I am able to get code from email when verifying it from developer account, and then it saks questions about you, then when I click on verify, it submits but then again I am taken back to the contact info where you get code from email. I am stuck in a loop right now. I have tried incognito mode, changing browser, changing network but nothing helped

hi, i am facing the exact same issue. i tried literally all the shenanigans posted here.

  • double checked and verified all email addresses + phone numbers
  • added a credit card to my facebook account
  • added a credit card to my business account
  • even have a campaign running
  • cleared out cookies etc dozens of times

furthermore, i inspected the network tab. the error that seems to come up is "registration step is no longer current"

{
    "success": false,
    "error": "registration step is no longer current",
    "nextStep": "email_verification"
}

Monty Python Sketch: The Wrong Forum of Doom

CAST:

  • Khoros Moderator (outsourced, underpaid, over-caffeinated)
  • Sir Denial (poster convinced Horizon is blocking his Facebook dev dreams)
  • Lady Misunderstanding (sees dark conspiracies in every login screen)
  • Steve, The Exasperated Herald (armed with actual knowledge)
  • Chorus of Delusional Posters (a mob who think "Meta" is one single magic button)

Scene: Meta Horizon Developer Forums

A virtual town square. A banner reads: "WELCOME HORIZON DEVELOPERS" but someone has scribbled "FACEBOOK" over it in crayon.

The Moderator sits at a wobbly desk labeled "Khoros Support (We Don't Do That)".

A crowd of posters waves screenshots of "Meta for Developers" login pages.

Sir Denial: (shouting) Critical bug! Infinite registration loop! I'm trying to become a Facebook developer, and Horizon keeps rejecting me!

Steve, The Exasperated Herald: (Patiently). This is the Meta Horizon forum. Horizon is for VR stuff. You're trying to register for Meta for Developers - that's for Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp APIs. Different platform. Different site. Different purpose.

Sir Denial: (frowns) So you admit it. Horizon is blocking my Facebook app.

Steve: No, Horizon has absolutely nothing to do with your Facebook app.

Lady Misunderstanding: (gasping theatrically) But the page says "Meta"! Everything says "Meta"! Therefore, everything is the same thing! It's basic branding science!

Moderator: (consulting clipboard) According to my training, I'm only allowed to say: (reads monotonously) "Have you tried clearing your cookies?"

Chorus of Delusional Posters: (in unison) We have cleared our cookies! We have sacrificed our cache! We still cannot become Facebook developers on this Horizon forum!

Steve: You're not supposed to become Facebook developers on this forum. This is like going to a bakery and demanding a car wash.

Sir Denial: Exactly! And the bakery refuses to wash my car- (points accusingly) -critical bug!

Lady Misunderstanding: I've discovered the truth: Meta has created an infinite registration labyrinth. First you click "Meta for Developers," then you're bounced to "Meta Business," then "Meta Horizon," then back again. It's not a platform - it's a lifestyle trap.

Moderator: (quietly) I just moderate posts about VR headsets. I don't even have a Facebook account. I'm from Khoros.

Sir Denial: (ignoring him) Look at my evidence! (holds up laptop) Thread title: "Critical Bug: Infinite Registration Loop and Verification Failure on Meta for Developers." I posted it here, in the Horizon forum, so clearly Horizon is responsible.

Steve: You posted a Facebook developer problem… in a VR forum… and now you're blaming the VR forum for not fixing Facebook.

Sir Denial: Yes. That's how accountability works.

Chorus of Delusional Posters: We demand that Horizon fix Facebook! We demand that Horizon fix Instagram! We demand that Horizon fix WhatsApp!

Moderator: (raising a hand) We don't control any of those.

Lady Misunderstanding: Then who does?

Moderator: (pauses) …Probably someone who doesn't read this forum.

Steve: Here. (holds up a scroll like a royal decree) This is the correct link for Meta for Developers. You go there to register for Facebook/Instagram/WhatsApp APIs. You do not go to the Horizon forum. You do not open twelve identical threads. You do not tag Horizon engineers.

Sir Denial: (suspicious) So you're saying… the solution… is to click… a different link?

Steve: Yes.

Sir Denial: That's outrageous. (turns to crowd) Comrades! We shall open another thread!

Chorus of Delusional Posters: Another thread! Another thread! Another thread!

They begin chanting as they type furiously: "Critical Bug: Infinite Registration Loop and Verification Failure on Meta for Developers (But We're Posting It In The Horizon Forum Again)."

Moderator: (defeated) I'm going to mark this as "Solved" and hope nobody reads past the title.

Lady Misunderstanding: And I shall report this as a known issue in my personal conspiracy log.

Steve: (looking straight at the audience) If anyone ever wonders how documentation gets ignored, this is it.

Curtain. As it falls, we hear the Chorus starting yet another thread: "Stuck in a loop when creating developer account".
