Version mismatch v206 / v205

In the Meta Quest Developer Hub, we are trying to link, but there is a version mismatch: v206 for the headset vs v205 for the PC. Where can I download v206 for PC?

have you found the solution or did what i did and waited for the app update to rollout, it seems that the headset updates before the app rolls out with the update

for me it is v207 vs v208 and I have all kind of issues with basic setup of a unity project / building blocks / simulator and or testing via link.

yes that is the one i have also right now , v207 Headset vs pc v208 . the solution i had for the earlier version mismatches was just to let the updates rollout and that solved it eventually , but now that ive started using my headset again , my headsset updated again and i guess the app also so the mismatch is back .

I don't use my headset consistently so i don't really notice any differences, I had no issues setting up my new project using the buildingblocks for hands only. but ill will keep in touch if anything pops up .

Can you also use the MetaXRSimulator? for me it only works the first run and then I only get black screen afterwards. No hands and no environment is shown.

Also just using building blocks.

When I tried using using link my hands are shown in the wrong direction / the right eye is acting strange. So far i'am not really having a great development experience :(

I didn't use the Meta XR Simulator for most of my testing, so I can't comment on the black screen issue directly. I focused on deploying builds to a Quest 3 using Build And Run. With Meta XR SDK 207, OpenXR, the Camera Rig Building Block, and the Hand Tracking Building Block, I was able to get head tracking, hand tracking, and rendering working correctly on device.

One thing I noticed was that hand tracking did not initially appear because my controllers were active. After setting the controllers down and allowing the headset to switch to hand tracking mode, the hand models appeared normally.

I have also seen reports of version mismatch warnings between PC software and the headset, but despite the warning I was still able to deploy and test successfully on Quest 3 hardware.

You could just try building the app um straight to your headset directly to the quest and see if anything renders

I haven't relied heavily on the Meta XR Simulator because I ran into enough uncertainty with it that I switched to testing directly on a Quest 3 using Build And Run.

A few things I'd check:

  • Make sure OpenXR is enabled and all Meta Quest Project Validation issues have been resolved.
  • Verify that a Meta XR Camera Rig and Hand Tracking are actually present in the scene.
  • Make sure there is something visible in front of the camera. During my initial test I only had a floor plane and a cube, but that was enough to verify rendering was working.
  • If testing hand tracking, put the controllers down and wait a few seconds. My hands didn't appear until the headset switched from controller mode to hand-tracking mode.
  • If using Link, try testing with a direct Build And Run deployment to the headset. I was able to successfully deploy to Quest 3 and verify head tracking, hand tracking, and rendering on device even though I had seen version mismatch warnings elsewhere.
  • For the right-eye issue, I'd verify that only one XR rig exists in the scene and that the project has been configured through the Meta XR Project Setup Tool and OpenXR validator.

So what I'm going to do and hopefully this helps is I'm going to create a quest 3 with the Meta XR starter template that you can open with Open XR XR Hands Meta XR Camera Rig Hand tracking and Meta Quest Project validation already configured if I do I will share it on my GitHub and you can download it from there Just give me a minute and I'll get it ready because there's some project files are going to remove that are going to my build so let me do that clean it up and I'll share it on Github

Thank you very much for adding the github / giving me a project to test on. Your project is actually giving 'pretty stable' results in the metaXRSimulator but when I add passtrough it just only will work once.
