Completing the Outfit — Template Suggestions from a Clothing Creator: Cowboy Boot, High Heel, Named Templates, Labeled UV Guides

Hello,

I'm Jo_Mama_G, a clothing creator in the Meta Horizon Creator Program. I design and sell avatar clothing, and I'm writing about the one thing that governs everything any of us can offer: the avatar-item template gallery. A creator can only finish the outfits the gallery gives us the forms for — and some of the forms players ask for most simply aren't there.

I'm new to this work — I've been creating avatar clothing for less than a month. In that short time, something has happened that I didn't expect so soon: other players have begun coming to me with requests, asking me to create pieces for them. I take that as the clearest sign that what I'm making is something people genuinely want to wear. My name is starting to get out there in my community, and that makes me want to create more, and to look further down the road. I want to grow from here and build a real clientele — and the more complete the outfits I can offer, the further that can go.

That gap matters more every month, because dressing up is the culture now: players build complete outfits, head to toe. I watch it happen in my own community. In Vegas Infinite, the poker world where many of my customers play, avatars didn't used to have legs at all. Now they do — full bodies — and footwear is visible, and part of how every outfit reads. Yet the gallery still offers no cowboy boot and no high heel, even though heeled shoes plainly exist on avatars in-world. So I can design and sell a gown or a full western outfit and still have no way to finish it. And the gap isn't only in shoes — across the whole gallery, clothing, shoes, and hats alike, it is more forms and more variety that stand between creators and complete outfits.

I won't claim I've generated a great deal of revenue for Meta yet — but I believe the future of it is bright, for Meta as much as for us. Every finished outfit is more items worn, shown, and sold — and every sale in the avatar store earns Meta its share right alongside the creator. More templates mean more finished outfits, more sales, and more revenue on both sides of the store. That is value, not a favour.

Let me be plain about what I'm requesting: a bigger variety of templates to choose from, in all categories — clothing, shoes, and hats alike — including the forms that are missing entirely, such as a true cowboy boot and a high heel, and one-piece forms: a long coat, or a cape, with the pants already built in — a complete outfit in a single item. Forms like these would let creators keep improving our craft, and finish the outfits our customers are already asking for.

So, my specific requests:

1. A true cowboy boot template. Western outfits are a staple, and there is no boot form in the gallery that can carry one.

2. A high-heel template. Heeled footwear exists in-world, but creators have no heel form to design on.

3. Names on the gallery templates. The gallery shows pictures only. Labeled templates — clothing, shoes, and hats — would end a great deal of guessing and wrong-template uploads.

4. Accurate, labeled UV guides for each template, matching the live preview, so what we map is what we get.

I'll be candid about why the last two matter so much to me. In October 2026 I lost repeated uploads to UV and template-mapping failures — on a cowboy hat, on several boot attempts, and on gowns — work that had to be discarded because the template underneath it didn't behave the way its guide suggested. Clearer names and truer guides would save every clothing creator that waste.

Thank you for the gallery we have, and for taking the time to read this. These are small additions with a large reach: I have had to leave outfits unfinished for want of a form, and I would put these to work at once — and I believe they would be a real benefit to other creators as well. I'd be glad to show examples of the outfits these templates would complete.
