General Help getting started

A couple of questions:

What is the difference between developer and creator?

I have the "Worlds Desktop Editor" downloaded.  How do I know if the Editor is current?

Any online documentation shows a completely different Editor than mine.

I've seen documentation that the environmental gizmo is under hierarchy. But, it's not there. And, there is this in the Editor.  Help me please.

There is no real difference between creator and developer. The terms can be used interchangeably. The editor will check for updates every time you open it, so you should be current. However, if you are unsure, you can check your version on the bottom left of the Creation Home. The current version is 244.0.0.16.307.

The first screen shot is the new editor design so a lot of screenshots in the docs will not look like that because they were created prior to the redesign.

You can find the environment gizmo under the Build Menu. Build > Environment > Environment (looks like a cloud with a sun behind it.

For Meta, they distinguish Creator and Developer. I.e Creator Forum vs Developer Forum. Creators are Horizon Worlds developers, while Developers are aimed for their meta app store developers. They also ran a separate competition for Developers vs Creators.
