Instagram Account Hacked — Attacker Enabled 2FA, Recovery Process Not Working
Help recovering my hacked Instagram account (@filipps7743) — hacker enabled 2FA
My Instagram account was hacked, and I can no longer log in because someone enabled two-factor authentication (2FA) using an authenticator app that I don’t have access to.
I still have access to my original email address (iCloud) and phone number that were linked to the account. However, Instagram keeps asking for a 2FA code or redirects me to a video selfie verification process that doesn’t work. Sometimes it also asks me to verify using the phone number originally used when the account was created, which I can no longer access.
Here is what I’ve already tried:
- Instagram’s official account recovery process.
- Video selfie verification, but it either fails or the button doesn’t work.
- Contacting Instagram support through another account.
- Reporting the issue and explaining that my account was compromised.
- Trying to recover access using my original email and phone number.
Unfortunately, none of these methods has worked so far.
Has anyone successfully recovered an account in this situation? Is there another way to contact Meta support or request manual verification of ownership and removal of the attacker’s 2FA?
I’d especially appreciate advice from people who have experienced the same issue and managed to recover their accounts recently.
I’m happy to provide any additional information needed to verify ownership through official channels.
Thank you!
