Question

Oakley Vanguard glasses don’t have Garmin or Strava in App Connections. Pixel 9 XL

Hello, I'm having an issue with the Garmin and Strava apps. I live in Berlin and I bought glasses in Germany.
I have the app up to date, tried restarting both devices, and even doing a factory reset on the Vanguard, but none of them worked.
Neither Strava nor Garmin Connect appears on the app - the only ones that appear are Music apps.

Hello Gnatok,

We understand that you are eager to make use of the Garmin or Strava app while you are using you new Oakley Meta Vanguard glasses so we wanted to provide you with some steps to try out!

  • Check if your Garmin account email matches the one used in the Meta AI app.
  • Try logging out and back into both Garmin Connect and Meta AI apps.
  • Ensure the latest versions of Garmin Connect and Garmin Connect IQ apps are installed.
  • Reinstall the Meta AI app, Garmin Connect, and Strava apps if issues persist.
  • Ensure you are in a supported country
  • Confirm your Garmin device is updated and connected to your phone.
  • Reboot your phone and Garmin device after updates.
  • Ensure your glasses are on the latest update
  • Force restart your Oakley Meta Vanguard glasses and your phone.
  • Unpair and re-pair the glasses in both Bluetooth settings and the Meta AI app.
  • Use the Forget Device option in your phone’s Bluetooth settings, then re-pair.

Some more details about how to connect the and use and connect these device can be found on the following link: How to use Garmin with AI glasses

Should the issue persist, we suggest that you make use of the bug report option to report this directly to our engineering team for further review.

I tried everything that you mentioned, but no success. Can it be related that my Facebook (aka Meta) account was initially created a long time ago and not in one of the supported countries? If so, can I change that to reflect where I live currently?

Hey gnatok

Thanks for trying out the suggestions previously mentioned. We have seen this issue relating to to un-supported countries before, with these tow apps specifically. Please attempt to change the country on your account and see if that resolves anything for you. Also if you are using a VPN we would suggest switching it off as this could be causing the un-supported location issue

Thanks.

Same issue in Poland. I opened a detailed thread with logs here: Oakley Meta Vanguard - Garmin/Strava lost in Poland after switching to Polish | Meta Community Forums - 1380510
