0.4.0 SDK Not Rendering?

I just dropped in the new SDK and it does not seem to be rendering. Completely black screen on both desktop and Rift.

Any ideas?

Thanks

John

Disable or remove the Menu component in the player controller.

I did kind of have a problem like this initially when I first tried 0.4.0 and my rift was still a mirrored display of my monitor, after I made it an extended display this problem went away for me. Did you try changing your monitor settings?

The NullreferenceException never happened for me, did you delete your old ovrplayercontroller prefab and re-import the new version? I mean the gameobjects from the unity editor, not the files, after you import the new oculus integration the prefab file should be replaced.

Yes, I did completely remove all of the old SDK files and imported the new SDK into the project.

I even started a new project in unity, imported the SDK, and tried to use the pre-built first person character prefab and it still gave me the same errors.

I got similar errors at first, but had to wipe out all legacy ovr from project, then reinstall package. That cleared the errors for me.

This worked for removing the errors. Thanks! :) I guess that's just a bug in the SDK?

EDIT: That did fix the errors, but I'm still having the problem with it not rendering in the editor.

I've figured out why I'm getting the error. It's because when I go to import the 0.4.0 package, it NEVER imports the plugin folder. It won't let me for some reason. Any suggestions?

Whenever I try to import the remaining plugin folder, I get "Moving file Failed"

I tried importing the plugins from the Tuscany Package as well. No luck

The exception error is because the main menu script is being started before the ovrcameracontroller. The main menu wants to access the camera settings which have not been defined yet. To fix go to script execution order, set the ovrmainmemu script to be last (eg 100). Then the error will be gone.

Try closing down Unity, deleting the existing Plugins folder (assuming you don't have other plugins that aren't OVR-related), and then get back into Unity and import the OVR Unity integration. I have trouble deleting/updating Plugin stuff from within Unity, probably because they are currently in use and won't let you delete it all.

the same problem got solved for me too. but I also had the problem of the camera not working (crashed the service). after I managed to get that working due to the Intel emulator I got the Rift working in Unity right away.
