Unity + OR + XBox 360 Controller

Hi everyone.
I'm reading the Best Practices Guide and in the Appendix I it is suggested to use a "familiar controller" to let the player well.. play :D

Since I have already the Wireless Receiver for Windows to use the XBox 360 Controller with some games (as Lunar Flight) I want to understand how difficult it is to implement this in Unity; I mean, what do I have to do to be able to move the character with the controller on my project? The prefab in the OVR package is already "controller-friendly"?

In my specific case, since I am making a small flying game, I was thinking about using the left thumbstick to move forward/backward and left/right rotation, the two triggers to change the altitude (yeah is a helicopter-like flight) and the A key to interact.

Cheers guys :D

I'm hoping to find something in the asset store when I get to this point in my development, but hopefully there is something out there to guide me to detecting, allowing the player to use (and re-map if they want) the 4 main controllers - XBox, Playstation, Logitech, and Steam.

If I include the steam controller in the build, and the oculus rift.. then my chances of being greenlit might be a bit higher, yes? :?

You may want to check out InControl. It's either a free download or a $15 asset store purchase.

I opted to pay the $15 to support the developer. It supports a wide range of controllers on several platforms. So far, it's really great. Steam controller support isn't included out of the box, but you can add your own profiles. It does include profiles for Xbox 360/PS3/PS4/OUYA/Logitech on Windows/Mac and even stuff like iOS controllers on iOS and some other goodies.

That was exactly what I was looking for, thanks! I'm not surprised about the non-Steam controller support, since it isn't really out yet, and they're still in advanced design phase of it. But it sounds like it can be added once the release information is, well, released.
