Navigator Now Rolling Out to All Quest Users

Over the past year, we've been building Navigator — a redesigned interface that brings your apps, people, and system controls together in one place. Since we first introduced Navigator, we've heard your feedback and continued to refine the experience. Navigator is now rolling out to all Meta Quest users.

Navigator is now the default navigation experience, replacing the previous Universal Menu to give you a faster, more streamlined way to access everything on your Quest.

  • One Unified Interface: Press the Meta button to open Navigator. Your apps, settings, and people are all accessible from one place.
  • Guided Walkthrough: The first time Navigator appears, an in-headset walkthrough will guide you through the new experience so you can get up to speed quickly.

Thank you to those of you who provided your valuable input as we worked to get Navigator ready for broad rollout. Visit the How to use Navigator on Meta Quest | Quest Help to learn more about Navigator, and let us know what you think in the comments.

who No point in asking us here, we're all just users like you. Contact Meta through their website maybe.. Though your chances of getting it reversed or disabled is around the same as a snowball in hell.

This is a joke. The new interface looks too similar to the Apple Vision Pro. Can someone remind me how their story ended? Bad. Why don't they give me an option to undo it? Some people might like it, but I hate it too. It's getting on my nerves enough that I'm wondering if, if I buy a new VR in the future, it will be a Quest or another one that respects the customer. Browsing Reddit and other forums, most, and almost everyone, dislikes it.

I hate when UI changes are made without some sort of... build up or anything beforehand. We just change out muscle memories for a UI that's not anywhere near intuitive anymore. Getting to settings isn't as simple as one tap we now have to use multiple steps just to link to PC. A change like this needs to have some way of giving feedback after it's been rolled out. We don't have an easy way of doing such as those ideas are not being made/implemented. UI is a huge thing when it comes to accessibility and ease of use. Yet this new UI is... atrociously neither, I would prefer to revert if the chance ever comes but with the state of the Meta Link Software it doesn't seem like changes will be made in favor of the user. (no native hand tracking, wrist watch still broken, no actual problem showcasing on the pc app [stopped working isn't cutting it man, I'm sure there's bug codes but be more detailed for the user when possible, but give me something so I can better understand and sort out if it's an issue I can solve], the recent [in January] total breakage of the verification portion of the app leading to being unable to link without a workaround, and many more small things that don't matter as much but still)

    Maybe a naive question...
When it it planned, to finish the "complete rollout" of the new UI?

Please revert!!!! I usually use messenger during games. The navigator does not let me to leave messenger window open. I can stay in the call anyway, but when the messenger window is open and I push the oculus button, I get the navigator. There is no way to hide the messenger window and get back to the game. The only way is to close all windows. So nex time when I would like to see my messages, I have to start the messenger again. This is very uncomfortable.

Today this **bleep** did not let me close my game. I tried to push the game icon, but nothing happened. I had to use the power button to leave the game by turning off my headset.

Tommy16490 Unfortunately that's not going to happen.. Be aware this is a user forum only so asking here won't achieve anything.. If you really want to try you need to contact Meta Support directly.

Lot of arguing going on here but most comments suggest discontent with the new UI.

I've been on Oculus for a long time, have/had Q1/2/3, and I'm continuously disappointed by the decisions made with the UI and environment when it comes to changes that have been made over time.

I've been a huge fan of VR/ Oculus and the VR headset's been my favorite toy for so long, but every change that gets rolled out makes my VR experience crappier than before or takes away something that worked perfectly well.

After setting aside my headset for a few weeks, I came back to this new UI where it's harder to find things, and a system that disconnects from wifi and freezes in the middle of games.

If it's not broken, don't fix it.  The only good thing I can see about this update is that Horizon worlds isn't being rammed down my throat like before.  But on the other hand, my headset worked then...

I couldn't agree more. I have a Quest 2. The entire purpose of the Quest was to be a simple, portable, and reliable VR headset that you could turn on and get into an activity within seconds. Meta has completely thrown those terms out the window.

With the new UI I am utterly disappointed. The old UI was functional, reliable, and smooth. Very rarely did I have issues and my only request with that UI would have been the ability to resize any window freely which we still do not have. That UI was replaced by something that's hard on the eyes, ugly, confusing, and broken. Ever tried to press the buttons on the left side of the navigator? Don't bother! They don't work and will end up glitching your navigator. At least they replaced the menu logo with a Meta logo, right..?

The loft was a horrible mistake by Meta. No one wants to live in VR and it's the last thing they should be pushing for. Yet they remove the comfortable and simplistic environment system that had lots of customization for a single "Billionaire's Apartment" style room that has like 6 options of BACKGROUND scenery and the ability to like place your apps around that area as if it were real life. No longer can I have an empty space that doesn't use my headsets resources just to turn on, no longer can I have a cool black covering everything except the apps I am using, and no longer do we get access to the old environments we fell in love with.

Pushing Quest users to navigate their broken menus in an uncomfortable space with no control over my own device/experience, to spend as much time in their VR "loft" as possible, and to spend more time looking at their store. (Yes, the Horizon Store is still the first thing you see every time you start your $500 VR headset)

I can confidently say that I will never buy a Meta product ever again. I am repulsed by the decisions made here. As are most users.

Skelebonaz Did you join this user only help forum 9 hours ago just to rant? I think the new Navigator is great. Do you rant like this every time your Android or iPhone drastically changes it's UI constantly. On the loft I agree, I would prefer to trillionaire apartment rather a mere billionaire one. I feel let down. BTW, Where is your survey of the percentage of users repulsed by the decisions made here.  Do you have a "repulsometer" we can look at? As you're a new member here, be aware that we are all users, there are no Meta staff here anymore, just us billionaire loft owners and making multiple posts in rapid succession will just get you banned as quickly as you joined.
