Navigator Now Rolling Out to All Quest Users

Over the past year, we've been building Navigator β€” a redesigned interface that brings your apps, people, and system controls together in one place. Since we first introduced Navigator, we've heard your feedback and continued to refine the experience. Navigator is now rolling out to all Meta Quest users.

Navigator is now the default navigation experience, replacing the previous Universal Menu to give you a faster, more streamlined way to access everything on your Quest.

  • One Unified Interface: Press the Meta button to open Navigator. Your apps, settings, and people are all accessible from one place.
  • Guided Walkthrough: The first time Navigator appears, an in-headset walkthrough will guide you through the new experience so you can get up to speed quickly.

Thank you to those of you who provided your valuable input as we worked to get Navigator ready for broad rollout. Visit the How to use Navigator on Meta Quest | Quest Help to learn more about Navigator, and let us know what you think in the comments.

PLEASE revert the UI. I have more than one app open now without being frozen in place in the game I’m playing (vrcha) unless I close everything else. I Even tried with the experimental multitasking on

I’ve had this multiple times, too.  App is running, no issues, but a pop up keeps triggering saying it’s stalled and offers to wait or quit.  The only way to fix it is to quit and restart the App.

Whatever dipstick you had that told you this UI was wanted should be fired. It absolutely sucks. I hate not being able to move my windows. I hate that everything is all grouped together. Seriously, i want to roll back to the previous UI/version. I've only had my quest 3 for a week, and this is really killing my enjoyment.

@DecepticonZombie  If you feel that strongly about a change of the UI, you've only had the headset for a week, send it back and get your money back. Do you do this every time a new UI appears on your Android or iPhone? Can't you handle that either? Do you not have the capacity to adapt? If not the Meta Quest is not for you.

Blitztown Yes, the overreaction is unbelievable. What is wrong with those people?

You have a car which is working fine,

you hand it in for service

when you get it back it has gullwing doors which may look nice but makes it really difficult to get in and out of.

Your dashboard has all the buttons organized alphabetically so you now need to look for everything instead of nobrainer reach for it..

    thats how most people feel

How can this be reverted? It's bloated and confusing, I miss the one touch access to quick settings.

Edit: why in the world did adding one comment add me to subscribe to all comments here? Kind of sums up meta software- you don't have a choice. Can't turn off auto updates permanently, can't choose to go back to the previous quick(er) menu, can't choose whether or not to see Horizon/Worlds, can't even choose by default passthrough anymore, what the heck????

The "overreaction" to this change isn't an overreaction, it's a response to a culmination of frequent and drastic changes that the users who bought these headsets, have no choice towards, and which Meta's response to community comments likely has been lackluster, if any. I've found that software updates rarely yield a net benefit to UX, and the quest's OS is a prime example (where's move with you windows?????????????????????????????).

    All of this and Meta

The main reason why we get tons of UX changes is because the whole UX department needs to justify their salary...

I've worked in a company where buttons would change placement every 3rd month because some UX'er claimed that it would improve sales by xx percent ...  then after 12 months the buttons was back where we started.

Thanks, occasionally they're very appropriate, particularly if there is a track record. For example one guy recently was allowing his 6 year old to use a Quest headset.

That's OK kid. One day you will grow up to be a man. Be patient.

You need to be a little more polite sir. If you have nothing helpful to contribute there is no need to pass comment insulting others. I see you make a habit of this and it isn't appreciated.
