PTC v59 Release Thread

Thanks everyone for all your feedback on our previous builds, several bugs were identified in PTC v57 and the solutions for some have shipped, while others are on the way!

The Public Test Channel (PTC) for Quest v59 is starting to roll out for Meta Quest Pro and Meta Quest 2 soon.

If you're seeing an issue or bug after updating to PTC v59 jump on over to our Get Help board and search for any existing thread, if you don't find one, make a new thread. Please add the tag PTC v59" to the thread and in the title. This way everyone can look for just PTC v59 issues too.

It's best if you can post each bug you spot in its own thread, to keep track of individual issues separately.

Share your impressions and let us know if you see any issues. Please make sure to also send in bug reports along with posting here if you notice anything going wrong.

We know it's tough when you run into a problem on a PTC build and want to thank you all again for testing out PTC and sharing your feedback! This feedback is extremely helpful to our engineering teams. We appreciate your interest and persistence in testing out the core functionality of software as we develop!

He did say SOON...! please remember this Meta we are talking about ! SOON in meta talk means anywhere between 2 DAYS and 2 MONTHS....!! lol Just don't hold your breath! Beside it'll contain more bugs then ever and the Q2 & QPro will become even slower as they optimize the software more and more for the GEN 2 chip of the Q3..!

Ryanality Do you realize that people have a major issue with WiFi 6E networks on Quest 3? Many people me included can't even get Quest 3 to find WiFi 6E network on mainstream routers or it takes them several minutes and restarts of the headset to connect. For me My Quest 3 basically doesn't find it all. Quest Pro had exact same issue for many versions. It was solved for Pro in last v57 update but for Quest 3 the same problems occur right now. When I saw v59 PTC I was hoping the fixes are coming. Meanwhile you say v59 won't even come to Quest 3 so playing wirelessly with Quest 3 is not possible unless I try and buy several 6E routers just to try them out hoping maybe one of them will work (not all people and routers are affected but many do). Can you address this issue or perform some kind of hot fix? The prospect of waiting way over a month for maybe getting a fix with v60 PTC is not really encouraging.

I am on v57 In Quest 3 and it did not find 6e bands. I found that if I press the power button long enough to show the shutdown window then I just click on 'cancel' it usually finds and connects to 6e bands

NicoEng I tried that and the best I got is that it showed on the list but it said "cant connect. try again later" and it disappeared from the list. So unfortunately it doesn't work for me. Meanwhile my Quest Pro connects no problem.

Ryanality  could you please finally fix the issue with the random flashing pixel artifacts on Quest Pro?

It is a major issue for so many quest pro users since update v51 or v53.

Moriarti4 Unfortunately it looks like it's still a rollout in progress. I can confirm that I have not gotten it yet.
