PTC v59 Release Thread

Thanks everyone for all your feedback on our previous builds, several bugs were identified in PTC v57 and the solutions for some have shipped, while others are on the way!

The Public Test Channel (PTC) for Quest v59 is starting to roll out for Meta Quest Pro and Meta Quest 2 soon.

If you're seeing an issue or bug after updating to PTC v59 jump on over to our Get Help board and search for any existing thread, if you don't find one, make a new thread. Please add the tag PTC v59" to the thread and in the title. This way everyone can look for just PTC v59 issues too.

It's best if you can post each bug you spot in its own thread, to keep track of individual issues separately.

Share your impressions and let us know if you see any issues. Please make sure to also send in bug reports along with posting here if you notice anything going wrong.

We know it's tough when you run into a problem on a PTC build and want to thank you all again for testing out PTC and sharing your feedback! This feedback is extremely helpful to our engineering teams. We appreciate your interest and persistence in testing out the core functionality of software as we develop!

EveryDay10  If you are doing PCVR do you need to opt into the oculus desktop app public beta (v59?).  I've found this to be the case with previous beta's.  Just asking because my Q3 doesn't allow for PTC yet so probably wouldn't to be happy with an oculus desktop app public beta.  I was thinking about going back to PTC with my Q2 and/or QPro.  Thanks mate and cheers.

My Quest 2 has not yet received ptc v59, while the oculus pc app has updated to the following version 59.0.0.112.366 (59.0.0.112.366).
the aerial connection is fine, no changes/problems to report, except that the oculus pc app, from v57 and still presents the notification indicating that my headset does not have an active microphone, with a relative red dot on the devices. I tried to restore the oculus software drivers, Quest link has permissions granted on the viewer, but I can't figure it out. not that it's vital, but for me, but if anyone knows how to help me I would learn something new.

I got PC App v59, but disappointed. No AV1 codec. No change in settings. I can't see any improvement of image quality. Quality mode is still meaningless.

Ryanality I now have a Quest 3 and my oculus PC app updated to v59 recently, but I'm not sure if I am supposed to use it with this new headset given the comment that the next Q3 version will be v60.  I play PC games and am a beta tester for one of the quest game devs.

Should I opt out of PTC until v59 is fully pushed out and the dev team is working on v60?

my PC updated the Oculus software to version 59. To launch some games on SteamVR I use OpenXr and OpenComposite. After the update I started having problems starting up with this error message: opencomposite dllmain error cannot init vr "unsupported apptype 6" . I went back to the v57 version of the PC software and it started working properly again. I hope that in the v59 version there are no problems with opencomposite since it is the only way to run some games decently
