PTC v63 Release Thread

Guys I installed v63, just used a - Sideloaded launcher

- Open Original Android Setting

- Files management

- Select Quest and you can navigate to every folder including Android, Data, Obb, etc. You can install any apk and apply whatever mod you like as you used to do in previous versions.

We want Scoped storage back!!! I am no longer able to access my storage, in turn, no longer able to download mods to my favorite game, Bonelab!!! Need this fixed ASAP!!!

Hey everyone, I've checked in with the engineering team and the scoped storage changes seem to be caused by a bug that they're working on getting fixed right now. Thanks for flagging it during PTC! I don't have a timeline to share just yet on when the fix will get implemented, but we'll let you know when we have more info.

That's good news if that was a bug. That got all of us surprised considering going more "open" by Zuck.

let's just hope than they will fix this asap so we can play again with our favorite mods 

Please don’t go through with this update and keep scoped storage many games Longevity rely on this. the VR community is very niche and most people want mod support. If this goes through I will be dropping this platform and going solely PCVR

Why have you limited access to the data folder? Even after disabling the PTC channel, I can't roll back to V62. It is really annoying not to be able to control your own device that you paid for.

please allow scoped storage access, non PC modding is so rare and gives the quest such an edge

I'm on the brink of becominge a regular user of the Meta Quest 2 and 3. I purchased a Quest 2 approx 18 months ago. I bought the combo 256GB with a case elite headstrap etc. I used it infrequently as I'm not much of a gamer. 

Recently I got a Quest 3 512GB in hopes I could do more productivity. Many of the apps I want to use would need to be side loaded. I recognized the risk but find I"m will to take those if I gain the functionality I seek. Recenty I found our the use of scoped storage and side loading my go away in v63. This is something that will likely cause me to return my Quest 3 and wait a few years before I consider reentering the AR/VR/Spacial computing arena. I had hopes this functionality would continue after Mark Zuckerberg alluded to being the open alternative to Apples' Vision Pro and it's walled garden of applications. 

Please do not close down the ability to used scoped storage and to side load the applications that can allow me to work from anywhere using these android productivity apps that are not inside the Meta Store. without them this $649.99 headset and the additional accessories I purchase would become largely useless. I am attempting to use it for more and may even try to use it for some entertainment but with the loss of scoped side loading and some hobby like tinkering the value of productivity and learning will be lost. 

I AM SO MAD THAT YOU ARE GETTING RID OF MODS I WAS GOING TO GET GTAG MODS AND YOY GOT RID OF IT?? WHY DID YOU HUH? OMG
