PTC v68 Release Thread

Thanks everyone for all your feedback on our previous builds, several bugs were identified in PTC v67 and the solutions for some have shipped, while others are on the way!

The Public Test Channel (PTC) for Quest v68 is starting to roll out soon for Meta Quest 2, Meta Quest Pro, and Meta Quest 3.

If you're seeing an issue or bug after updating to PTC v68:

1) For issues: Go to our
Get Help board and search for any existing thread on the issue, if you don't find one, make a new thread. Please add the tag "PTC v68" to the thread and in the title. This way everyone can look for just PTC v68 issues too.

2) For bugs: If you come across a bug, please post each one you spot in its own thread, to keep track of individual issues separately.

Share your impressions in the comments below and let us know if you see any issues.

Please make sure to also send in bug reports along with posting on the forums if you notice anything going wrong.

We know it's tough when you run into a problem on a PTC build and want to thank you all again for testing out PTC and sharing your feedback! This feedback is extremely helpful to our engineering teams. We appreciate your interest and persistence in testing out the core functionality of software as we develop!

Anonymous  Thanks mate, I also got this new 3rd non-PTC version v68.0.0.560.364 update on my QPro today.  Fairly big download (1.39Gb).  All seems to be working fine with standalone and PCVR with Link.  My Q3 is still on v67.  I'm not sure why this is taking so long to roll out to it.  Maybe due to Meta still evaluating user feedback before they roll it out to everyone,  Who knows?

I also got V68  68.0.0.560.364.630307155 . For me it was a small (I think 19MB) download. I guess no one knows what this patch was supposed to do. But at least I know that it did not fix the controller disconnection issue! Right after rebooting the problem is back. This time both (Left and Right) controllers stopped working for me and I could not get them to work with battery removal.  It happened two times, and each time it was when I pressed the power button on my quest to shut it down. When the Shutdown/Restart menu appears, controllers stop working and I am stuck not being able to shutdown or cancel!

I now have the latest Meta non-PTC/non-beta updates with my Q3 (version 68.0.0.566.364), QPro (version 68.0.0.560.364), and meta-link pc app (version 68.0.0.515.361). All seems to be working very well.

Still no final v68 announcement thread with release notes yet, lol!  Hopefully soon.

Yesterday I got v68.0.0.566 on my Q3. This morning I see that v69 has been pushed together with a controller update on the PTC. I did not see a v69 release thread ot a v69 PCT thread yet, I wonder if v68 will be skipped?

NicoEng neurodivrgent  Wow, v69 PTC already???  I'm still sticking with non-PTC/non-Beta for now.  I did notice a controller problem with my Q3 today.  I played my Flight sim msfs with Air Link for about an hour, using external control sticks with my controllers off to the side (they quickly go to sleep).  After exitiing msfs my right controller failed to come back, no matter which buttons and/or waving it around.  The left controller worked ok so I got back to the Quest home ok but the right controller still wouldn't register.  I needed to restart the headset and then both controllers worked fine.  I tried again going into msfs with Air Link, but then quickly back to the Quest home and then the left controller wouldn't register until I restarted the headset again.  I did file a bug report on all this so hopefully meta will figure out what is causing this problem.  Only seems to happen after letting the controller(s) go to sleep in PCVR mode.

I haven't had any of these problems with my QPro/Pro controllers and it's been on v68  for about a week already.

Edit; Just got another V68 update on my QPro version  68.0.0.566.364 (same now as my Q3).  All seems to be working fine and I haven't seen any problems with Link or Air Link like I did with my Q3 with Air Link.

Edit;  after a few restarts the Q3 controller issue seems to have fixed itself.  Bit of a mystery, lol!

PTC v69. Right now, I'm seeing a new changes on installing apps, instead on of saying prioritize to install first. They change it to "download now" and after clicking download now, it will say prioritizing.

I dont know if V 68 ever released adaptive brightness but on PTC V69 I did noticed the experimental setting  no longer have window layout, it's officially now live on V69 and adaptive brightness is also used at the same time. Wide screen has been added to the windows layout.
