PTC v72 Release Thread

Hey Everyone,

The Public Test Channel (PTC) for Quest v72 is starting to roll out soon for Meta Quest 2, Meta Quest Pro, Meta Quest 3 and Meta Quest 3S.

If you're seeing an issue or bug after updating to PTC v72:

1) For issues: Go to our Get Help board and search for any existing thread on the issue, if you don't find one, make a new thread. Please add the tag "PTC v72" to the thread and in the title. This way everyone can look for just PTC v72 issues too.

2) For bugs: If you come across a bug, please post each one you spot in its own thread, to keep track of individual issues separately.

Share your impressions in the comments below and let us know if you see any issues.

Please make sure to also send in bug reports along with posting on the forums if you notice anything going wrong.

We know it's tough when you run into a problem on a PTC build and want to thank you all again for testing out PTC and sharing your feedback! This feedback is extremely helpful to our engineering teams. We appreciate your interest and persistence in testing out the core functionality of software as we develop!

      Got the update a few minutes ago. Looked around settings, couldn't find much new. Still no keyboard passthrough feature. My controllers did get updated with v72 tho, just to add in.

        Just installed v72 however i don't see any other changes to speak of.  I understand that there are many upgrades and changes with OS, wonder if that is something that is going to be rolled out incrementally?. Anyhow, I will let you know when i see the changes.

        What about v71 final? What is going on here ?! I was still on v71 PTC with zero changes and now i get v72 PTC with zero changes. Could you please release a patch with all features, a normal changelog and setup a discord with a bug forum. I really get the feeling that this is a weekend project from some college kid with spare time.

          v72 的视角不好，手和屏幕畸变更严重，不如 v71 版本，希望能尽快修复！

          I don't view any visible changes. Only update hand controllers. I will wait to view the changelog summary

            I received PTCv72 on my QP yesterday and only noticed the following changes so far:

            1. New splash screen image at bootup.

            2. Skybox images in the home environments have been changed back to the previous 3 skyboxes. 

             

            Is there any chance at getting a hint at what the PTC might include? I understand its a staggered rollout and we might not get all the features.

            72版的為什麼會變成外部安裝的APP遊戲畫面，變成無法點選!導致無法執行外部APP軟體?71的時候還都很正常啊!是不是Bug啊?

            +1 here as well, I have v71 update since for about 10 days now but no visible changes(new settings view, etc), and now just got v72 update with only change being the name of the operating system added to the boot screen. I've factory reset my device twice now and it's quite frustrating.
