PTC v72 Release Thread

Hey Everyone,

The Public Test Channel (PTC) for Quest v72 is starting to roll out soon for Meta Quest 2, Meta Quest Pro, Meta Quest 3 and Meta Quest 3S.

If you're seeing an issue or bug after updating to PTC v72:

1) For issues: Go to our Get Help board and search for any existing thread on the issue, if you don't find one, make a new thread. Please add the tag "PTC v72" to the thread and in the title. This way everyone can look for just PTC v72 issues too.

2) For bugs: If you come across a bug, please post each one you spot in its own thread, to keep track of individual issues separately.

Share your impressions in the comments below and let us know if you see any issues.

Please make sure to also send in bug reports along with posting on the forums if you notice anything going wrong.

We know it's tough when you run into a problem on a PTC build and want to thank you all again for testing out PTC and sharing your feedback! This feedback is extremely helpful to our engineering teams. We appreciate your interest and persistence in testing out the core functionality of software as we develop!

what have ptc-users to do, to change this ptc-testingsystem, where you are on ptc but acutally don't test many announced new features, because they are rolled out so gradually that you don't get them through the whole ptc-testperiode?

who thinks this is a good system at all?

Seeing some UI changes with the Menus and toolbars, very happy with v72 so far!

Just updated to PTC v72 and everything seems to be fine so far. Going to tinker around a bit more tomorrow!

Cheers for the thread! 🙌

Are they rolling out connecting the Quest Pro Controllers within the headset in v72?... Depending on my lighting I switch between Q3 and Pro controllers and it's a pain using the mobile app.....

I heard it was coming in v71 but hasn't arrived.....

This release brought an important regression that severely affect Wolvic. As it can be seen [in this comment](https://github.com/Igalia/wolvic/issues/1631#issuecomment-2491121254), our main thread gets stuck on a `dequeueBuffer` call as soon as the browser starts a WebXR session. The very same APK does not have any issue in v69 or v71 (neither in previous releases as that code hasn't changed at all in the last couple of years).

We'll be happy to provide as much info as needed including the perfetto traces.

Just had an update to v72 of 1.34Gb. Have not seen any new features yet. The update is 72.0.0.368.

Wow the numbers GB have gotten higher, I'm surprised.

There is a new rename in the setting and maybe a redesign that's in V71.600 as well PTC V72. The new changes are hidden in every sort of ways. From the mobile app functionality that connect to the headset, to the little specs, or even the settings you don't look at.
