PTC v74 Release Thread

Hey Everyone,

The Public Test Channel (PTC) for Quest v74 started to roll out today for Meta Quest 2, Meta Quest Pro, Meta Quest 3 and Meta Quest 3S.

If you're seeing an issue or bug after updating to PTC v74:

1) For issues: Go to our Get Help board and search for any existing thread on the issue, if you don't find one, make a new thread. Please add the tag "PTC v74" to the thread and in the title. This way everyone can look for just PTC v74 issues too.

2) For bugs: If you come across a bug, please post each one you spot in its own thread, to keep track of individual issues separately. Please make sure to also send in bug reports along with posting on the forums if you notice anything going wrong.

Share your impressions in the comments below and let us know if you see any issues.

We know it's tough when you run into a problem on a PTC build and want to thank you all again for testing out PTC and sharing your feedback! This feedback is extremely helpful to our engineering teams. We appreciate your interest and persistence in testing out the core functionality of software as we develop!

I also received this update(5070966.19510.510) and need to download about 1GB. But I didn't find any difference after the update

I also got that non-beta update earlier today on my Q3.  I also got my first v74 non-beta update on my QPro (5065808.12930.330).  All seems to be working fine with standalone and PCVR with Link and Air Link.

I'm still using the beta on my meta link app (v74.0.0.675.347).  I needed to use that because earlier Q3 v74 was stuck on 72Hz refresh rate with the meta app on v72, until I went beta on the pc app (v74).  I haven't tried rolling out of beta yet but I'll probably try this later.  I sometimes takes a while for the non-beta pc app to catch up.  Anyone who has now got the non-beta pc app please chime in.  Thanks.

Just got the update 5070966.19510.510 last night and charging is stuck at 73% with a flashing orange charge led.

What I have heard is that ethernet would no longer work with v74.

If this is the case, my Quest3 will stay offline forever.

A few people who use ethernet normally said that and as long as I don't get a message from them that it's working again, I'm out.

I don't want Meta to destroy my β€œrunning system”.

NicoEng  My Q3 with Elite battery strap is charging up fine, as normal, using the stock Q3 charger.

Anonymous  My PC is ethernet wired to my wifi6 router and it's working fine with my Q3 using Air Link.  Also working fine with an official link cable connected to my z790mb usb3.2 gen2 type-c port.  So, I'm not sure who is reporting all these issues.  Maybe a Reddit thing, lol!

Are you sure we are talking about the same thing?

I use VD with a USB-LAN adapter, that's what I mean by ethernet.

Do you also use a USB-LAN adapter?

Anonymous  No, I'm not using that method, nor am I using VD right now.  Both Link and Air Link work well, for me anyway.

Hey, I received the last night the update  v74 5070966.19510.510 on my quest  3, and the passthrough is distorting the experience, I have tried restarting several times, and looks like the video cameras are not well calibrated.  I thought it was a problem with the UIs, but later when I tested without passthrough, everything worked fine...  How can I undo the update?

TomCgcmfcok, then it's probably like I said.

The Quest no longer supports Ethernet, but your router does. 😁

I hope it's a bug and hope it still/again works, otherwise goodbye Meta.

Anonymous   I guess if you can only use VD with a USB-LAN adapter to get good PCVR results then that may be a problem.  You're probably best to go to the VD discord channel and see if you can find any solutions.

CarlosVic  I just tried this with my Q3 and I didn't notice any passthrough related distortion.  All looks the same as I got with v72, and earlier.  Maybe try giving your headset cameras a bit of a clean with a microfiber cloth.

Also, try removing your current boundaries and recreate them again.  I always do this after each update.  You may want to do the same with anything in the Experimental options.
