PTC v74 Release Thread

Hey Everyone,

The Public Test Channel (PTC) for Quest v74 started to roll out today for Meta Quest 2, Meta Quest Pro, Meta Quest 3 and Meta Quest 3S.

If you're seeing an issue or bug after updating to PTC v74:

1) For issues: Go to our Get Help board and search for any existing thread on the issue, if you don't find one, make a new thread. Please add the tag "PTC v74" to the thread and in the title. This way everyone can look for just PTC v74 issues too.

2) For bugs: If you come across a bug, please post each one you spot in its own thread, to keep track of individual issues separately. Please make sure to also send in bug reports along with posting on the forums if you notice anything going wrong.

Share your impressions in the comments below and let us know if you see any issues.

We know it's tough when you run into a problem on a PTC build and want to thank you all again for testing out PTC and sharing your feedback! This feedback is extremely helpful to our engineering teams. We appreciate your interest and persistence in testing out the core functionality of software as we develop!

Choleni My nephew uses my Q2 daily with an additional account and hasn't reported any issues.
However, I don't know if the Q2 is currently being updated to v74.

Buetigame yes, Quest 2 is also on v74.

But that's interesting.....I have the second account only on Q3 not on Q2, so I didn't realize this only happens with Quest 3

Buetigame Where did you get the idea that I don't understand that PTC is the beta channel for Quest firmware? I have been offering suggestions to help people with issues they are experiencing when they are on the PTC.

One of the first I suggested, at the beginning of this thread, was to drop out of PTC so it would drop back to v72 because of issues that came up with PCVR.

I have also made several suggestions here and in several other threads to drop from PTC to see if moving to public release would clear the issue someone is experiencing.

d0gg You've been in and had problems... going in and out may keep problems.
So keeping away from PTC (not going in and out) will eliminate the cause of most problems.

You were lucky that quitting PTC solved your problems, but it doesn't have to.
Maybe you got what I mean.

I just noticed that I also have the same battery problems, won't change beyond 70% or something like that.

I have never been in PTC, I almost always use the quest 3 for PCVR with cable link. Normally I used to get a green led, but lately (not really sure since when, not used it a lot lately) it stays orange

Chances are they put too much faith in AI and had it create the current versions. That's why we're stuck with this mess.

Had this charging issue with my Quest 2 since the update to v74 tried all kinds of things to try and get it to work gave up and started looking for a solution online and find out its the update that was the issue. Most ppl here are talking about the Q3 charging issue not sure if anyone is talking about the Q2 having the same skipped a few pages and read the other thread about the Q3 charging.

My Q2 stops charging at different levels at times highest I got was 97% most of the time its around 85% or so.
