PTC v76 Release Thread

Hey Everyone,

The Public Test Channel (PTC) for Quest v76 started to roll out today for Meta Quest 2, Meta Quest Pro, Meta Quest 3 and Meta Quest 3S.

If you're seeing an issue or bug after updating to PTC v76:

1) For issues: Go to our Get Help board and search for any existing thread on the issue, if you don't find one, make a new thread. Please add the tag "PTC v76" to the thread and in the title. This way everyone can look for just PTC v76 issues too.

2) For bugs: If you come across a bug, please post each one you spot in its own thread, to keep track of individual issues separately. Please make sure to also send in bug reports along with posting on the forums if you notice anything going wrong.

Share your impressions in the comments below and let us know if you see any issues.

We know it's tough when you run into a problem on a PTC build and want to thank you all again for testing out PTC and sharing your feedback! This feedback is extremely helpful to our engineering teams. We appreciate your interest and persistence in testing out the core functionality of software as we develop!

Did the V77 fix the 200mbps softcap?

markus.andersson.94  I don’t see that Link limit with either my Q3 or QPro since latest non-PTC v76 updates.  I’m currently easily achieving +750mbps with Link (default h.264 codec).

I  just updated to v76, and now my floor is 2 feet higher than it should be (even after a factory reset), and all boundaries, windows and icons in passthrough mode are now moving in the direction I turn my head, whereas previously in v74 they were static.

Meta now wants me to RMA the headset when this is clearly an OS issue.

Thanks I think ? for the vote of support ?! Yes I do rant and go on a bit, but with valid reason as I feel WE are all banging our heads against a brick wall ! Now I have 2 options ... 1. Shut up and just accept that's the way it is and is gonna stay!! or 2. Keep RANTING until finally someone notices and does something about it!!  Sorry if this annoys people (No i'm not sorry) but i'm sticking with option 2 as I live in hope things will get better..??

markus.andersson.94 if you mean the max wifi-downloadspeed on quest pro, it is not (still 200-500mps)!

also have written an email to the support, case got closed because support thought it is a wifi 7 problem but this is not the case, so they probably don't know if they still interchange these two separate problems....

hatsuratsu  Good point mate,  There may be some confusion regarding Link bitrates and wifi download speeds.

    Go to the thread about this for more info;

Having all kinds of software issues since v76. It is insane how a update can release from public testing, get bug reports, and have them all ignored. Genuinely embarrassing to cause borderline bricking of 4 digit priced headsets because of incompetency. Just DON'T push the update if stuff isn't working??? No one here is in a rush to get a new update THAT BAD

    Hey there,

I had kind of the same issues.
I couldn’t connect my Quest 3 via link-cable to the PC anymore. The problem started with updating to the first V76 revision.

And even when it connected, it was not stabile at all, the desktop view was flickering and the connection stopped after some seconds…

Meta support, log files, …. brought no improvement.

Long story short: finally I went to another USB-C port (10G front port instead of 20G on the back).

And suddenly everything works fine again. Ok, I’ve also updated the Link-App to PTC, but only because I think it’s running better on this version.

So, I’m pretty sure, that the original USB-C port on the back is completely fine and the Quest 3 worked for about 10 month on this port without any issues.
I also would like to go back the original 20G port, but for any reason, it doesn’t work there anymore. Driver updates or re-installing of the USB port didn’t solve it.
I don’t know, how this is linked to V76, but there must be a correlation.

Anyway, maybe this helps some of you.

    Cheers!

Well.. I hope VirtualHereUSB can be made working on this version. I just lost my wireless facetracking function.

No sign of V77 PTC on my Quest Pro yet.  Really hoping the next update fixes the local Wi-Fi download speed issue.  Super irritating to not be able to stream Virtual Desktop at max quality due to this bug that was introduced in V76 PTC over a month ago.
