Jus tried to play EA WRC using link cable (as I have done for years) after being out for a couple of months... What a mess!!

Extremely low performance, even with super low settings, and over 50% performance headroom! This is utterly s#$t

Uninstalled recent Windows update and installed old Nvidia driver, just to be sure. I was about to blame EA (which is also bad btw), but that software hasn't updated in forever, just saw this thread and ofc it was Meta fault all the time!!

Another Quest Link update today and still the same issues with lagging and freezing on Msfs 2024.

Can we get an update please?  It's well past the point of ridiculous at this stage and we need a resolution.

As an active member of the Flight sim VR community I certainly will be advising those wishing to upgrade to avoid Meta like the plague.  You do not care about customer experience, or we'd have regular updates on this.

Incredible! An update arrived today and things got even worse! Up until yesterday I was racing the “Virginia” track at 90 fps without any issues, now even that’s having problems!

Only a couple of tracks left where I can still run… waiting for the next update to ruin those too?

And… no. No iRacing update came out, so it’s all “thanks” to Meta.

Thanks, thanks, thanks.

IDK why so many updates (almost each time it powers it off its updating something) only to break things further. Will wait for the new Steam visor and being done with Meta/Quest/Oculus, was here since OCV1 but this company is getting ridiculous... that's why "Meta verse" failed

Mise à jour du logiciel Meta Horizon Link – 09/02/2026 (v83.0.0.333.349)

⚠️ Attention : divulgation d’intrigue

How about an update Meta?   I only asked for one back on Friday...

Plenty of others complaining the past few days and what do you do?  That's right, release another broken link update that does nothing but impact issues further.  Are you that incapable of testing something before release?   Or incapable of even saying "sorry guys, we know there was an update today but the issue is still persisting".

Nothing, no updates, nothing meaningful, the usual silence.  Get your act together.

The update from yesterday didn’t resolve anything—in fact, it’s even worse with iRacing!

I understand that using the Quest as a simple VR headset (completely ignoring your Meta platform) isn’t your priority, but we paid for a device that’s now almost completely useless.

I hope someone starts a class action… You should AT LEAST allow a downgrade to a version that worked with our setup!!!

It’s a real shame that you’re forcing an upgrade that ruins the link connection and don’t seem to care.

PLEASE let us downgrade and use the link we paid for.

Thank you.

The bit that bothers me most is the fact they went ahead and released this update whilst pretending our issue was 'top priority'.  If it was top priority, then you would wait until the fix was implemented before releasing yet another broken update.  It goes to show we're an afterthought, they can't even provide regular updates on how they're progressing with the issue.

As much as I'd love the ability to downgrade, I really don't see it working with their strategy of constant updates of the headset also, they'd need to completely change their direction with all of that, and as you already pointed out, the standalone features are Meta's priority.

We're stuck in limbo, unable to enjoy our hobbies, until someone pulls the finger out.

The downgrade is obviously Plan B, but with the previous version, my Quest worked like a charm. (I think pre-v81)

Hi, for me the latest update of the headset and the link software (201.0.0.73.547) works much better, I only tested it on 2 relatively demanding games American Trucks and Project Cars 2.

I wish I could say the same, loaded up a flight in Msfs 2024 and it's the same story.  The minute the plane starts accelerating on the runway it starts lagging like crazy.  Even looking around the cockpit you've the same stuttering that wasn't there less than a month ago.

Why do they feel the need to just release these new builds without even notifying us, or asking for feedback on them.

I haven’t tried the new update myself but is everyone turning off ASW in the oculus debug tool before commenting?

Yes, of course. I even tried a ton of other settings, like bitrate, etc.

I think it’s a known bug that severely degrades performance in some cases—and considering this official Meta post, there’s no doubt about it.

Over the past few weeks, it’s become clear that the Quest Link performance issues introduced with v83 and still present in v85 are affecting a very large number of users across a wide range of hardware. The official acknowledgement from Meta was posted 19 days ago, but there have been no updates since, and the community reports here show that the problem is still ongoing.

From this thread alone, we can see consistent patterns:

  • Users on high‑end systems (i9/4090, 2.8 Gbps USB bandwidth) are still experiencing encoding framerate instability and stuttering.
  • The issue affects Link Cable, Air Link, and Steam Link.
  • Uninstalling Windows update KB5074109 helps some users, but many others — including Windows 10 users who never had that update — still have the same performance problems.
  • Several people report that v81 was stable, but downgrading is no longer possible.
  • Some users can’t play PCVR at all, even after trying every workaround.
  • Others report that performance varies day‑to‑day or even track‑to‑track in certain games.

These reports make it clear that this is not an isolated configuration issue — it’s a platform‑level regression introduced after v81. Many of us rely on PCVR for sim racing, flight sims, and other demanding titles, and right now the experience is significantly degraded or unusable.

Does turning it off help you at all? Leaving it on can lock you into 45fps at times
