The Public Test Channel (PTC) for Horizon OS v2.3 has started to roll out.

Release Notes:  https://www.meta.com/help/quest/172903867975450/

If you're seeing an issue or bug after updating:

1) For issues: Go to our Quest Forums and search for any existing thread on the issue, if you don't find one, make a new thread. Please add the tag "PTC v2.3" to the thread and in the title. This way everyone can look for PTC issues.

2) For bugs: If you come across a bug, please post each one you spot in its own thread, to keep track of individual issues separately. Please make sure to also send in bug reports along with posting on the forums if you notice anything going wrong.

Share your impressions in the comments below and let us know if you see any issues.

We know it's tough when you run into a problem on a PTC build and want to thank you all again for testing out PTC and sharing your feedback! This feedback is extremely helpful to our engineering teams. We appreciate your interest and persistence in testing out the core functionality of software as we develop!

I still don't have the Navigator set as my default interface. I have a Quest 3, PTC and Dev Mode are enabled. With v83, I could activate the Navigator via Advanced, which I liked back then. It was disabled with v85. The Navigator is installed on my headset, and I can open it as a window. I can also see via adb that the Navigator stack is running in the background; the only thing not yet running through the Navigator is home_default. Regarding the update, I've noticed the following bugs: 1. I can't open the browser from the taskbar, but I can from the Library. 2. My pop up notifications are blue, not gray as usual. 3. When three windows are open and I close the middle one, one of the side windows doesn't automatically move back to the center.

v2.3 after factory reset, Quest Pro
    - the interface propose to scan my surrounding, while it's a Quest3 feature, the depth sensor is disabled on the QuestPro, I can't scan my furnitures
    - huge stuttering that disappeared after some times (but at some point, the frame rate was below 20 fps)
    - losing WiFi regularly for one second or more when using Steam Link
    - Quest Pro controller is getting an offset every 30s that doesn't resolve itself (I have this issue since day one, on three different controllers so it's not hardware related) as before where I was putting the drifting controller in my back a few seconds to make the headset/controller line of sight occluded, then bringing the controller in front my face/the headset, it used to recalibrate after a few seconds. This issue makes the headset useless when randomly one of your controller is multiple meters away from your actual hand...

Note I tried to leave PTC, performed a factory reset : I haven't been rollback to 2.1, I'm stuck on 2.3...

Edit : After thousand hours of VR, it's just today I found a way to force the quest pro controller to reset its tracking : I bring the controller inside a pocket/below my t-shirt for a few seconds, then bring it in front of the headset -> it resets the tracking... At least I can use my Quest Pro without restarting my controller every few minutes

Edit2: Using Virtual Desktop, I don't experiment the Wifi/PC streaming connexion issues (losing stream for a few seconds from time to time) so it totally can be a Steam Link/SteamVR issue

Whatever you do, don't get of that t-shirt. It obviously has magical powers. 😂 Seriously though, glad you got it working again.

After the latest update, I get a whole array of problems such as a "shell error" window opening and wanting to close shell, then the whole operating system starts to lag a lot, screen tearing, controller issues, and having to keep my finger on the power button for an extended amount of time to try and force powering off.. I'm afraid at this point the quest is unusable..

Meta really has dumped the Quest 3 !! Just read the release notes... Seems as if there is only 1 person left in the building working on the Quest 3 operating system ?  this isn't an update more like a very small software patch.!

I'm also have this exact issue on my Quest Pro with PTC 2.3, I also cant downgrade even with opting out and factory resetting twice.

New version landed today : I still experiment the joystick tracking drift after a few seconds... Nothing improved on that side

2.3 needs to be revoked its broken controller tracking so badly on quest pro its unusable and i cant get out of ptc, it was ok in 2.1

@liamreed Do you not understand the purpose of the PTC program Liam. Your device is a guinea pig for untested firmware/software. They won't revoke because they're using your device and others to find bugs. There will probably be a lot more so there's not much point in complaining about it here. You decided to join it, so while you are helping a lot with getting this version tested, there are risks. If you find it too difficult, I suggest that you leave PTC so you will have only stable updates after v2.3. As you can't revert to v2.1 you'll have to put up with it until the stable version is released.

The purpose of the ptc is to break controller tracking so bad it makes the device unusable? Are you okay in the head?

I am OK in the head, because, unlike you, I'm not on PTC. 😉 You'll just have to wait until they fix it, which along with other reported bugs might take a little while. You make your bed, you lie in it, don't blame others for your decisions. If you can't handle having your headset as a guinea pig, don't join PTC and then cry about it when things inevitably go wrong.

liamreed The version won't be revoked until the bugs are fixed. When the official v2.3 is released I suggest you leave the program then. As you probably know, leaving now doesn't mean you'll go back to v2.1. It doesn't work like that. I admire the people with the patience and forbearance to test the software but if you want a trouble-free experience Liam, just leave it. It's not worth it.

It literally says in the message when you go to leave it should revert you to the last main release firmware and it doesnt. The toggle doesnt even factory reset the device its completely broken

I know but if you check through the forum you'll see that a lot of people who left PTC were still on v2.3 after they factory reset.. Maybe it reaches a point of no return. Anyway no point in arguing with me about it. Hopefully the official release will come soon.
