Broken pin/bar on headset

Hi was wondering what to do? The pin/bar that holds the strap in place just snapped in half on my sonโ€™s brand new quest 3! Heโ€™s gutted ๐Ÿ˜ญ Canโ€™t believe something weโ€™ve saved up and paid that much for broke so easily. It seems poorly designed. Any idea if we can get it replaced or something? Thanks

  • Hi @bugz777โ€‹ ๐Ÿ™‚

You can reach out to support via email, chat or WhatsApp HERE to claim your warranty.

This is the first option that you have..... most likely you'll get a refurbished headset, they won't send you just the pin.

The second option is to fix it yourself somehow.๐Ÿคทโ€โ™€๏ธ

The third option - and that's what I would do - buy a halo headstrap. There are brands that doesn't need the little bar and those headstraps are much more comfortable anyway.... I can't stand the default headstraps of the Quest๐Ÿ˜„

    Just google for them

Happened to me too. I jerryrigged a temporary solution by putting the end of the the strap between the faceplate and the headset though it's really only temporary. I made a post about it in response to another person. In some ways it breaking was a blessing in disguise as I decided to get a halo strap which doesn't need the bar and made the whole experience much more comfortable. You don't need an expensive one. I got this on Ali Express and it was delivered quickly. It attaches to the arms and as the headset is adjusted without moving the arms, it's good to protect it. If you like you can send me a private message and I'll send the link to the one I bought. You can also get one with a battery pack. I didn't so can't say if it's any good but it's very comfortable.. The anchor bar is a weak point of the device for sure.
