My quest 2 Display Turn off every 10 to 15 seconds Unless I'm moving my controllers.

My headsets displays turn off. Every 10 to 15 Seconds. I have (automatic wake) enabled The screens do not come back on. In less I hit the power button. I have tried. Setting my (display off) and (sleep mode) To their maximum time limit of 4 hours. I have tried cleaning my face sensor. automatic wake still works. Just only when I've actually taken the headset off of my head. And then put it back on.  This problem even occurs with obvious head movement. But weirdly always occurs when my controllers are not moving. And it does not occur when my controllers are moving. I want to be able to keep my hands/controllers  still for more than 15 seconds. This issue may not seem like a big deal to some but to me and the way I use my headset. it is seriously impacting my enjoyment of a product that I bought with my own money.

I have factory reset my headset, and I have it set up in the way that I want, and the glitch appears to be gone. I can now use hand tracking and watch YouTube videos and play games. I believe that this problem may have been caused by not updating 2.5 until 2.7 was already out. it's unacceptable. In my opinion that missing one update caused an issue like this. A factory reset is a solution to this problem. I have heard that a factory reset may be risky. My recommendations are make sure you are logged into your meta. Horizon account on a separate device to ensure that you can get back into your account and make sure your headset is at a 100% and plugged in Well attempting. That's what I did. And I had no issues

I also can't use hand tracking. Because my controllers aren't moving. Well, I'm using hand tracking.

Maybe your headset just needs to be updated? There is no 4 hour setting anymore, maximum is 3 min.

    What version are you on?

I thought that this might be the problem. Before starting the discussion I checked if I was up-to-date. I was not so I updated i am on version 2.7 which my headset is telling me, is the latest update i am still having the issue.

Ok, I am officially losing my mind. I just did more tests, and my headset isn't turning off. When my controllers aren't moving, my headset is turning off. When I don't hover, the cursor dot from the controller over a UI element for more than 15 seconds. Like when you don't touch the screen of your phone for a long enough time. And it turns off i know horizon os is based on android, and I just can't accept that, that is a coincidence

Rant incoming. It's always software that gets me, but hardware I can fix pretty much anything I have every screwdriver Under the sun. I know how to solder, I have fixed my quest2 controller's stick drift at least 16 times by blowing them out with compressed air i have fixed my Xbox controller by actually replacing the thumbsticks in it when the wires on my headphones inevitably get chewed by my cat. I replace them by soldering on new ones. But software, there's nothing I can do. I talked to Meta's AI help center thing. And when I told it that I had already done all of the troubleshooting steps, it recommended, it said, I'm sorry you're having that issue. Have you tried submitting a bug report? Well, I have submitted a bug report. And when I told the AI this, it just repeated the same thing. Over the same cookie cutter answer for I can't help you which hurts more, then just telling me that it can't help me.

Sorry, it took me a few days my PC doesn't have a USB-C port, so I had to order a USB-C to USB A. Cable i have used the manual update tool however i am still experiencing the issue. But I have discovered more information there are 2 accounts on my headset me and my sister contributed half of the price to purchase the headset a few years ago my sister's account was added first and my account was added. Second. My sister has lost interest in VR and the headset is basically mine. I asked her permission to log into her account to troubleshoot these issues. And I have discovered that the issues I'm experiencing are entirely localized to my account only

My sister's settings menu and my settings menu. Are the same, though they have the same glitch (display off) and (Sleep mode) have a maximum time limit of 4 hours. This is still occurring after the manual update.

Glad you got it fixed. In future don't skip updates or wait until the last moment and you likely won't have to factory reset or use the software update tool if you update when you're supposed to. It's fine to wait a couple of weeks, I usually do to make sure there's no major problems, but to wait until the next one arrives is just asking for trouble. Android is like a wall. Each update adds some bricks. If they're missing and you add more bricks with the next update, it can fall down. So update in time. Don't blame others for your own actions.
