New Meta Quest 3s stuck on applying software update

Hi,

Hoping someone can answer my question below as currently frustrated with new device.

New Meta Quest 3s is stuck on 'applying software update'. Have tried factory reset on the headset (the headset has not yet registered with the app on my phone so cannot factory reset from my phone).

Following factory reset, the headset just goes back into the same applying software update loop but does not progress.

Is there a solution to this or do I just return the new headset for a refund?

    Update 12/6 3:36 pm PST: Thanks everyone for bringing this to our attention. Our teams have resolved the issue. You should now be able to setup your headset as normal. Leaving the original message in case anyone still needs help.

    Same here. Terrible first impression of the device. No advise I can find helps.

      Agree! - First impressions are not good, hence considering just boxing it up and returning. Unfortunately, it was to be a Christmas gift so would prefer to solve issue if possible......

    Been struggling with this same problem since last night. Left it on all night and now this morning it's still having the same issue.

    Sounds like a common problem.  You would think the tech team could come up with a fix!

      Tried this and it's still has the same problem. The windows on the computer says "Opps ran into a snag" every single time it reaches 99 and 100% download.

      Dude, you're a lifesaver! I was starting to go insane already. I have logged in to say thank you and let you know that you just made at least two people so much happier (me and my wife). Now we can enjoy our brand new headset!

    just bought the 3s headset, and I thought I was just unlucky.
    the first impression is absolutely terrible

    Same issue here. First boot an hour ago. Stuck in upgrade. Hey meta was wring with your device. Are you hoping to sell thise a lot at Christmas because with such first upgrade issue you are going to mess around in lots of houses...

      After following instruction from software update tool I was able to upgrade and get this working but what a silly situation to have to do that to get this working...

    You guys make all of that sound so easy. Lol. I’m so confused. I can’t get anything to work. Meta Quest is about to lose a customer, I shouldn’t have to jump through hoops or search for answers to use a device I just purchased. First impression is not good.

    Hey, I just bought my Quest3 and I ran into the same Problem. Even with Sideloading i have no luck. It says i disconnected my Device (Fun Fact: The quest has been sitting on my desk next to my PC for around 45mins connected to it) Is there another Workaround for it?

      I work in one the store who sells meta quest in my country and using my knowledge i managed to get a new one but this one has the same issues, it is so frustrating

        I tried that but mid downloading the update it disconnects by itself
