Not receiving verification emails when adding account to Quest 2

Hi,

I'm having problems setting up a new profile on my Quest 2. I’ve tried sending the verification link to several different email accounts, but none of them have arrived in my inbox. I’ve also checked all spam and junk folders.

My son recently got a new Quest 3 headset, and the plan was for him to use that while I use the older Quest 2 so we can play together. I created a new Meta account for myself and successfully verified the account. Everything appears to be working correctly on the web.

However, when I try to log in on the Quest 2, I’m prompted to verify via email, and those verification emails never arrive.

I’ve gone through all the troubleshooting steps I could find related to this issue, but nothing has resolved the problem so far.

Could you please assist?

  • Hi Billy, Were you putting both headsets on your account or were you setting up a separate account for your son on one of the headsets?

Hi! I was trying to set up a separate profile for myself on the Quest 2 in order to use the App Sharing function. As I understood it, I needed to create a separate Meta account to do that, but the process has been a bit confusing.

Both headset were on the BillyHjerne account

OK, that is strange. Maybe try to set up separate account for your son on one of the headsets, instead of putting both on the same one? Just a suggestion. There is no reason that you can't have 2 headsets on the same account, but I found this which,, though not particularly related, it might be a much better strategy for your son to have his own acct

some important considerations to keep in mind.

        Potential Issues

        • Shared Game Saves: If a game uses cloud saves, both headsets will share the same save data. This means that progress made on one headset will affect the other.
        • Multiplayer Limitations: Most multiplayer games require separate accounts for each headset. You will need to purchase the game for each account if you want to play together.

        Recommendations

        • For a better experience, especially with multiplayer games, it is advisable to create separate accounts for each headset. This way, each user can have their own game saves and play independently without affecting each other’s progress.

In summary, while you can use two Quest headsets on one account, separate accounts are recommended for optimal gameplay and experience.

  • BillyHjerne Sorry Billy, that's not solving setting up the two headsets on one account but I think you'll save a lot of headache by setting up two separate ones. I do hope this helps.

  • Hi BillyHjerne 🙂

What do you mean by that? Why sending to several emai accounts?

The code will be send to the email address of the account which you want to add.

I assume, you're going  to "add profile" and then put in the email address from your new created account?

I've just tried to add a profile onto the Quest 2, the link was sent - and received - without issues.

    Maybe you missed something?

I just thought of something that might be Billy's problem. He was setting up the second headset on his existing account. But instead of adding the device through the Horizon app on his phone, he tried to set up up separately. BillyHjerne If you see this Billy and you still want the two headsets on your account, just add the device on the Horizon app.. Though for game play it's better that your son has his own account as per my previous message.
