Quest 3 display goes black every second!

I’m experiencing something similar as well. In PCVR, the screen randomly does the exact same thing, and it goes back to normal when I unplug the Link cable.

I'm having a similar issue with headset video blinking, but IDK if it is related?  It doesn't happen every second like OP mentioned, but will randomly blink, sometimes the headset video will stay off for about 10-30 seconds and I can still hear the audio, but when the video comes back I can see my passthrough and outline of my guardian/boundary for a second, then it goes back to VR as if nothing happend. 

It started happening a few days agowhen I was using PCVR steaming (Steam Link & also Virtual Desktop).
But then I was playing Asgard's Wrath II a little but tonight and it did the same thing, so it coulds like a headset/software issue.  I am also on v83.0 (Dec 15, 2025)

Power off/rebooting does not seem to help it. 

Gruntled I haven't seen it on my 3s but it's certainly happening to quite a few headsets from what I've been reading. Maybe it's because I only do standalone? Have you tried a factory reset to see if it fixes it? 

Happening to me too last couple of days, but not as bad as OP.  Have seen lots of other similar reports on reddit and discord.

Quest3, v83, standalone, no 3rd party background apps.

Playing Synth Riders, screen will blackout for a second then return.  Only once or twice in an hour long play session.

It is happening when just in a world, not plugged into external power not connected to link. I feel it seems to happen after being in a primitive world and then going to a. CUI world.

Its 100% a Meta problem. Do not reset headset it has no use. V83 never did this before and now out of nowhere alot of people have this issue even on v85. So Meta pushed some buttons and it needs to be undone. 

Its always the same responses did you try this or did you try that but never say ow its our fault we are working on a fix. There countless of these messages about this problem and always the standard reply. Meta do better people wanna game and people want to make content and some need to. 

Im getting pretty fed up with the headset. 

It's happening to me too and a lot of people I know as well. For some it just blinks a few times but for others they have to restart, like I do. Each day it's getting worse and I just got off the thing because I kept losing progress and the game became unplayable.

Has META even acknowledged there is problem? I hope they fix it soon as I'm about to throw through mine through the window and its too hot here to do that. 😡

eta: I'm on a q3 in australia and it only started happening with v85 which I got last week sometime. Playing standalone.

I'm having the exact same issue as well. Quest3, v83 updated on Dec 25. Never had this issue before december 25.

Virtual Desktop wireless, but I always have my quest charged by usb c cable connected to a normal usb power adapter on the wall.

Screen goes black for 1 second every 30 minutes or so. Sounds are heard as normal, and it's definitely not a router/ pc issue.

Having a very similar issue that started last night. I was in the Bodycombat app and I was suddenly getting the room boundary lines showing up. Then as I was working out, the app would just blink and the app would pause, and I'd have to resume. MANY times over and over again within a few seconds each time.

This morning I restarted the headset and I couldn't even get it to start properly. Got the Meta logo and then blank screen. Then it shut off (or went to sleep). Multiple attempts an finally got to the menu in passthrough mode. But the controllers didn't work, and it just crashed shortly after.
