Quest 3 Loosing Roomscale Boundary

I'm running a lab with ~12 Quest 3 headsets each in their own 10'X10' room. This morning I started running into issues with the headsets would revert from their setup roomscale boundaries into stationary boundary mode. I have tried setting up the boundary in the home screen and in the desired application. The roomscale boundary holds until I take the headset off and put it back on. At that point it says that it doesn't detect a boundary and switches to stationary boundary.

My current version is v2.31021.

I've cleaned the cameras and sensors and lighting is the same as it has previously been when it held a boundary. I've tried removing boundary history and adding a single roomscale boundary. I really want to avoid factory resetting due to the time involved in performing setup on all the devices.

I'm looking to see if anyone else with this version is also encountering this issue, and if anyone has a solution.

If it's happening to multiple headsets, then it would be a software bug or server-side issue, and factory resetting them isn't going to fix it. You'll have to wait for another software update. Report the bug from the Quick Settings menu.

  • YES. same here. its making my games literally unplayable switching to stationary for no reason other than me just touching the headset or even just randomly when im moving around. completely ruins the immersion and i dont understand how this is an issue when it has literally NEVER happened before

    Same here.
    current version 2.1.1.x and 2.3
all have this problem, Quest2 and Quest3. workaround: set sleeping time to maximum. Annoying.

the roomscale boundary is no longer detected after waking up from standby, and it switches to stationary mode.

You then always have to open the QuickBoard using the Meta button and switch the boundary to “roomscale.”

Or you restart the app, the boundary is found again.

  • Same problem here. Really annoying. I can't configure the play area and hand the headset over without it switching back to stationary, so it's impossible to demo VR to friends or anyone else who wants to try it!!!

Me too, haven’t received the update. Can someone who solved it post the version?

  • Just make sure your headset and pc are connected to internet, then reboot pc and headset, it helped me

  • I also got a lab with bunch of headsets and pcs, on one of my headset didnt change anything, boundary was switching to stationary, then i notice that my wi-fi in my headset was turned off, i switch it on and restarted everything, then it worked fine
