Unable to Install Meta Horizon Application on Windows 11 PC

My Quest 3 is connected to my Widows 11 PC via a USB 3 link cable.

After the connection between headset and PC got a few times disconnect mid game, I decided to try a repair off the link software with no success.

The software was automatically removed from my system.

to be sure there are no remaining meta code in the system I followed the steps to manually delete left over oculus folders.

After that I downloaded the Meta Horizon Link Application from Meta's webpage.

At the end off the installation  process I get following message:

Restart Computer

Sorry, we encountered an error during installation.

Please restart your computer and try running Link Setup again.

If you still experience issues contact Quest Support

 

Any advice?

      I have exactly the same problem! Put everything back to the way it was before, when everything worked – what else do you need to come up with?!! Stop reinventing the wheel already!!! Don't justify your inaction with pointless improvements.

    I am having the same problem. Meta Horizon Link will not finish installing.

    Install logs contain this error:

    I hope they release an update soon. I've not found any official word on this issue yet despite several users confirming they are unable to install the software.

      I have the same exception in my logs. I'm in contact with support on it.

    I also had an automated update that clearly failed and automatically uninstalled the software. The software will not re-install with the same error that EVERYBODY is getting: "An attempt was made to load a program with an incorrect format. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x8007000B)"

    The installer is broken, and as it is also trying to run as a patch, it is also breaking existing installs. Great pre-release testing here.
