My Quest 3 auto-updated to V74 Build 5070966.11190.510 (PTC) on the 31st and it won't charge past 73-74%. At that percentage, the orange charging light starts to flash. This one time I woke up to the quest turned on and in the factory reset menu by itself (the one you get from holding Power + Vol down), with it overheating.In the settings, there are no updates but whenever I restart or shut down the quest, each time it says wait while the Quest is updating for maybe 2s, which is unusual.Things I've already tried:1. Soft/hard reboot. 2. Different cables/chargers.3. Unpairing and repairing the controllers (as suggested by chat support)4. Turning off the Quest and then charging it but the same issue persists #PTC v74 #quest3 #PTC

I sent in a support request and they told me that battery life will decrease with the age of batteries. 🤦:male_sign:. So they are trying to convince me the maximum charge went from 100% to 73% in 3 hrs after I upgraded to v74.

Me and my wife both have Q3, for over a year, since the v74 update it will not charge above 73-74 %, she has tried to drain it to 0 but still only charges to 73-74%Also when we power off the headsets, if you look inside at the lens, they are flicking very slowly

Same thing that others reported happened to me. IMMEDIATELY after upgrading to v74 my battery no longer charges about 73%. I contacted Meta "tech support" and the experience was unacceptable. I provided a link to this thread because the agent acted ignorant of a widely reported problem. I was told "somebody" would email me about my issue "as soon as possible." That's just a bunch of B.S. I'm absolutely livid with Meta. The exact same thing happened to my Quest 2 a couple of years ago and it was never fixed. I've literally purchased every single Quest headset since Q1 and am just about done with Meta because of horrendous customer "support."

Is anyone else having this issue? I just updated to V74 (Not PTC) and my quest 3 will not charge more than 73%. Previously it was fine on v72.

It is definitely a bug in the current release build that, so far, has no known work around.

    PTC is the Public Test Channel, where you can get the updates before anyone else to test them out

Dropping back to v72 worked, v74 is definitely bugged. The same thing happened in v69 beta.
We either wait for update or drop back

  If it is possible to remove this as a solution it would be helpful. The problem persists outside the PTC and numerous folks have chimed in here. It isn't possible to drop back to v72 from the non-PTC v74.

  How did you go back to v72 because since the update with v74 my headset only charges up to only 74 percent and when I play it flickers and go blank for a few seconds, just a terrible update.

  Mine has been auto updated maybe 2-3 times since posting this thread and the charging issue STILL hasn't been resolved yet.
  Still odd that it persists on non-PTC firmwares.

    Finally got the update and the charging issue is still there, did soft, hard reboot, factory reset, update from support website and same issue. When I charge using the charging cable and the charger supplied I get the flashing orange light. Now I cannot rollback to V72 🙂

It looks like they have released v74 way too early. Tons of bugs still in it. You might want to consider switching to PTC. If you are already on v74, PTC means you will get newer test builds so you should see a fix sooner than someone that is on the standard release.

  It's caused by the update v74 because my headset was charging just fine until this update so no it's not because it's aging.

Hi, Another disgruntled vr user here. Last nights update (v72-v74) has left me with this issue, will not charge past 74%. (was 77% only a couple of hours ago!) I've reported the issue, asking if they will be a fix soon. Will report back if I get a reply.

I also got the official V74 yesterday and charging stopped once at 78%...it just won't charge any more.

sorry dude, meta is broken again. I was part of the PTC and then backed out due to this charging issue but meta is pushing out v74 with it still being broken. Meta for the win lol

I have the exact same problem--Quest 3 won't charge above 73%. Problem started IMMEDIATELY after v74 update. Meta tech support no help at all. I posted before in this thread but apparently someone at Meta didn't like me saying that their chat tech support was useless.

  An elderly friend of mine who had the same problem contacted meta to report the issue and was told it was caused by her bobo batteries! We should not use the headset whilst charging.
