CONTROLLER PROBLEMS WITH META QUEST 2

Why does nobody reply to my post's? my oculus quest 2 controllers keep acting up

The controllers are awful it seems like someone is controlling this thing or someone has been using these controllers

my character keeps floating around and going in the wrong direction and on the left controller the menu options keep cycling around different options like duplicate green,  lock red  this is very irritating and makes it difficult to finish the map I'm trying to make.

  • Yikes! Sounds like you're dealing with some pretty bothersome tracking issues. Not to worry! I'd love to provide some helpful tips to get you back on track. Please try the following and let me know how it goes:

    • Clean the tracking cameras on your headset (I recommend a microfiber cloth!), and clean the controllers as well (make sure you don't use any liquids!)
    • Remove the controller batteries for at least 10 minutes, then replace with a fresh battery
    • Unpair and re-pair the controllers

    I hope this helps!

Hey there, daxpowell466! We completely understand that you're experiencing drift on your left controller. We understand how this is disrupting your gameplay, therefore we'd like to jump in and assist you in getting this resolved as quickly as possible. We'll leave some instructions below for you to increase the deadzone range. Because it has been shown to work in the past with difficulties including controller drift.

For Quest 2 and Quest Pro:

        1. From your headset, select Settings.
        2. Select Controller Settings.
        3. Under Joystick Deadzone and Range, select the joystick you're having an issue with.
        4. Follow the on-screen instructions to recalibrate the joystick deadzones.

Note: When your controllers are turning on, make sure the joysticks are resting in their neutral position.

Please let us know how it goes so we can determine if any additional steps are required!

Is it just your right controller, or the left one as well? I recommend taking the battery out for around 2-3 minutes and then put in a new battery just to see if any lights come on.  If the controller lights up you can try pairing again, but if not you'd want to reach out to the support team. You can shoot a PM over to MetaStoreHelp, or create a ticket through the support site. Hope this helps, friend!!

Hello there daxpowell466 and Kswan86! We see you both are having some issues with the Meta Quest 2 Touch Controllers. Not having a device work as intended can be very inconvenient, and we would love to assist you both as much as we can with figuring out the controller issue.

Here are some troubleshooting steps we would like you both to try:

      • Remove the batteries for 15 minutes or more to reset the firmware.
      • Make sure there are no reflective surfaces around, and check to see if the room is well lit for the headset to pick up the surroundings.
      • Unpair and repair the controllers.
      • Hard reboot the headset to get rid of any kinks it may have:
        1. Hold down the power button until you see the shutdown button.
        2. Hold the power and volume (-) button on your headset down simultaneously until the boot screen loads on your headset.
        3. Use the volume buttons on your headset to highlight Boot Device and press the power button.
        4. Use the volume buttons on your headset to highlight Yes and press the power button.

As for daxpowell466, can you let us know of the following:

      • Is the issue you are experiencing only happening in certain games or in all games and apps?
      • Does the issue occur randomly after awhile, or is it constant?
      • How long has this been going on?

Please let us know. We hope to hear from you both soon!

Hello, I was able to finally fix this issue by cleaning the silver negative cylindrical pin inside of my controller's battery port. I bet if you removed your battery in both controllers, the one you are having issues with will have a cloudy/dirtier pin than the working one. Just scrape/wipe that one off.  I wanted to share this tip because I have not seen any meta mods suggest trying this yet.

  • My right controllers tracking doesn’t work at all. It’s 2 feet above me and there’s three lights on that aren’t visible to the eye. The only button that works are the oculus button
