Game Downloads keep cancelling themselves on Quest 3

hi im having an issue when trying to download asgards wrath 2, im on q3, every time i try to download the game, the download stops and the asgards wrath icon goes back to install, i normally get between 100-600mb when it does this, the highest download i have got to is 18gb, i have restarted the quest and done a factory reset, there is plenty of space and i have tried different wifi networks. i can download and install other games just not this 1.

Did anyone realise that in the meantime Meta updated the firmwares, including 'fixes' for certain Wifi issues?
Or that Meta had and still has severe server issues, making downloads, especially from outside the USA tough to chew ?
The only really pathetic thing is, that with downloads, Meta seems to think the early 90's are a good enough standard.
A 30+GB download is one thing that can be scary.
But doing it without ANY redundancy is like changing your tire while your partner holds the car up - a disaster waiting o happen....
No one seems to think that a simple 'resume download' button would have been a good idea or an automatic resume even better.
Meta keeps failing to provide the most basic standards we take for granted on our laptops, PC's and basically all our mobile devices.

Ever played the game "What IF?"
As in What IF YOU encounter a struggle and need a factory reset ???
Setting up the headset back to your preference is hassle enough....
But whether you did create a backup and included this massive game OR NOT - you face the same download struggles again!
Yes, a PROPER LOCAL backup requires root access....
But imagine, just for the fun of it, you could do this:
Download your apps, games and what not using the PC app, or if you have the space the mobile app.
Both free and paid stuff is stored LOCALLY once downloaded - encrypted of course....
And you do the same for all the things that changed on your headset, like the avatar, settings, references, game progress.
When the darn factory reset comes along you won't pair the headset and waste time with all the nive guides and videos....
No, since you already your headset linked to your account you simply connect it to the PC, select "RESTORE HEADSET" and then turn it on.
After a while the PC screams a completion note at you and you are back right where you left.
That in a fraction of the time it currently takes you, especially if you have multiple users on your headset.....

I’m pretty sure you haven’t really thought this through fully.

First, meta does indeed have an automatic resume facility; downloads that stop get a kick to resume at least three times, which you can see if you watch the notifications window (you’ll see the download progress disappear and reappear in the blink of an eye).

Second, while it would be very sensible to store the downloaded data permanently to allow for resumption even after power off, it would also require some more ‘management’ ui than currently; you’d have to be able to tell it to stop retrying now, to remove the previously downloaded data, or to resume again, etc; it’s conceivable that meta felt this would be too complicated and tech for most people, which is a very reasonable point.

Use of the ‘factory reset’ option is an attempt to see if anything has become corrupted in the system; it is a last ditch effort, not really intended for people to use with the intent of fully restoring a system.

You don’t seem to have considered the problem of a full restore putting your system back to the point it was at, I.e. still broken.

If you don’t know what caused a problem to the point of doing a factory restore, you certainly don’t know which settings or apps etc could be safely restored. And doing that at root level would make the potential that much worse.

The apps and save data are all in the cloud and you can always download them again, and there really are very few settings you’d have to return to after a reset, and allowing you to do them one at a time in order to figure out what the original problem was, is 100x better than the alternative where a complete backup is poisonous.

In addition, how many spare 512GB slots do you have to dedicate to backing up your headset, and how long would it take to backup and restore?

Everything you’re suggesting has undoubtedly been thought of already, and I suspect rejected for very good reasons.

Something seems to have changed for the better using 4G.  Having spent the last month not getting past 500MB on any install or update I've managed to install 2 large games (inc Asguard's Wrath 2) over the last couple of days with only one hiccup.

No idea if just luck or something has been fixed behind the scenes.

Just tried to download and install asgards wrath on my quest 2, worked first time today, not been able to download anything since v60 on my quest2 or 3 without using a vpn or someone else's wifi, i haven't updated aw2 since i was worried it wouldn't work and i wouldn't be able to play it, going to try and update that next. can anyone from meta confirm something has been changed?

One more test and this time it worked. Seems like even resuming works, because the download didn't start from the beginning, but from 3.9gb, probably from the last attempt. Nevertheless, seems like it's still not fixed for everyone so official statement would be welcomed.

Is this still an on-going issue?

My issue is more getting the store to actually load, all the copy loads, but all the store images and media doesn't come through. I'm also experiencing this on the Horizon Feed and it is also transpiring into making certain multiplayer experiences, such as VR chat taking too long to connect to the servers. I'm at a loss what to do. I've factory reset my device, I've even bought a static IP in case Meta blocked a dynamic ip range. I've had no notifications about any suspension or bans, nor would my behaviour warrant one.

I have an open support ticket but I'm not getting any responses back.
