Game Downloads keep cancelling themselves on Quest 3

hi im having an issue when trying to download asgards wrath 2, im on q3, every time i try to download the game, the download stops and the asgards wrath icon goes back to install, i normally get between 100-600mb when it does this, the highest download i have got to is 18gb, i have restarted the quest and done a factory reset, there is plenty of space and i have tried different wifi networks. i can download and install other games just not this 1.

Imperators No mine is set on the router itself.
Not sure we can even do VPN on the Quest, pretty sure we can't actually.

I'm having a problem with most of my games. In Blade & Sorcery, when I load into this game, I click play and while all my weapons are downloading into the game it just loads to 33% and won't go any further.  Its happening on a few of my games like Wreck Room and VR Chat, the games just get to a certain loading percentage  and freeze. Also my Oculus Quest store won't load on my headset but it will on my mobile App.  Any help appreciated!  Thanks.

Yeah I have an Asus router that is plugged intro the Three router and it's the Asus router that is configured to use VPN.
It's messy to setup to be honest and we shouldn't have to be doing any of this.

Hey everyone! Just hoping on this thread to get more clarification on the thread. I wanted to see if if this only a Asgard's Wrath issue or overall apps not being able to download?

That way I can proceed with helping out!

We are all mad here.

Hi AliceinVRworld this is happening on pretty much all apps, certainly anything over a few hundred MB in size.

h by the way, Asgard's downloaded and installed perfectly.....so VPN is a short term fix.....if you can do it.

Yeah so from what we can gather, it seems to be mainly (but possibly not exclusively) related to the following...
People based in the UK.
People possibly the 512GB model.
People using Three home broadband or similar.
Finally, people on V60

Seems like it might be a combination of points 3 & 4.

Point 3 could perhaps be generalised to mobile internet, but without knowing exactly what the issue is, it may affect other types of internet with particular characteristics which seem to make the meta servers think the connection has dropped.

seems like it, iv managed to get steam link downloaded by tethering my quest to my phone, went to try another app but my quest was about to die, its charging atm. i think you are right certain times of internet its not liking, must be connected to v60 as mine was working fine before, or they have changed something with the servers at the same time. il try a vpn in the morning see if it works for me.

Hi ObsidianLight did you say that your issue is only related to desktop VR and the Oculus desktop app?

Because that might be a completely different issue.

We are all experiencing this on mobile Quest headsets only from everything that has been said.

Both our Quest 3 and the oculus on PC.  Just for completeness sake, I took my quest 3 to work and connected it to my internet there and there was no problems.  So it has to do with my 4g hotspot internet at my house.

My installation never 'finished', but once I restarted, AW2 was there & seems to work fine.

It did give me motion sickness almost immediately, so was definitely worth all the hassle... πŸ™„

That aside, using the VPN does seem to be a useable workaround until it is fixed properly.

i tethered my phone to my headset again and tried this time it worked, mine to got stuck on installing. if a vpn is working for some reason meta must not like our isp’s atm, iv gotta respond to a meta email in a bit il point this out to them, while we have found a solution this isnt really good enough.

Yeah a VPN certainly worked for me, I have my library back now, including (finally) Asgard's Wrath 2.
So Meta absolutely need to know about this, 4G and 5G are being blocked in some way, which is obviously not good.
I'm lucky enough to have an Asus router plugged into my Three 5G box and I can set up a VPN on the Asus router itself.....but going via a VPN is a slower connection, it always is......I / we shouldn't have to be doing any of this and some people won't be able to use a VPN because of their setup.

I had a Quest 3 with v60 and I am living in the UK and using the 5G broadband from Smarty. I can confirm that this downloading problem (downloading AW2 and other large file) exist with mobile broadband connection. The temporary solution for now is to sideload a VPN app (mine is Surfshark vpn) and install.
