Quest 3 Controllers are not aligned in game?

  • I’ve noticed that in a lot of games, (banter, bigscreen, pavlov, breachers) the hands don’t line up with where my controllers are pointing, instead they point outwards. This is not an issue with the quests menu ui, they line up fine when im navigating quest menus. It is in game where this appears.

NOT A SOLUTION - MARKING FOR VISABILITY

Hey guys! I wanted to let you know that I've been talking with our engineers for a while about this issue. They recommend that you reach out to support so you can see what replacement options might be available for you. I know this is not the ideal solution you were hoping for, but this may be able to help with re-aligning the controllers for your Quest 3's. If you follow this link, then follow the steps that best describe this issue, and you'll be able to send an email, chat, or WhatsApp message to support.

For me the most wrong of them all is Synth Riders. The problem goes away if I play the Steam VR version opened through Virtual Desktop on my PC, which is out of Quest OS's control.

I am having this problem as well. Even in the main menu, I can see the pointer is off by a few degrees. Very frustrating!

Bumping. Have the same issue

Same issue here as well. I though it was Red Matter 2 that was badly developed but I'm having issues hitting stuff in other games as well.

I didn't even finish Red Matter 2 as it was too frustrating.

This is not fixed at all.  I cannot even play half of the game titles that I purchased due to this.  I've reflected this in my product review.

It's so ridiculous. Why don't they actually try it themselves so they can see

It's easy to reproduce.

I do wonder if some units are working fine though because it's so annoying that i would have thought everyone would be talking about it if it was happening to all units.

It´s a real pain the ass, I am currently thinking about selling all my Meta crap as they seem not to be able to solve small issues with their headset. What a shame.

So I just bought wrist straps and have the same issue. Is anyone in meta working on it? It have been 6 moths and nothing. This alignment doesnt make sense and it hurts my hands. Adding picture from amazon where it is shown how bad it is. Just give us some calibration like in Pavlov with all angles.

I knew this wasn't just me. I thought it was my new controller grips but your photo looks identical the problem I see.

PLEASE provide an update with the Quest 3 controller alignment issue! When pointing the controllers straight, the aim line in VR is pointing outwards by 5 to 10 degrees outwards! When shooting guns, your shots are flying outwards and away from your targets unless you invert your wrist inwards. Please help!

I noticed that the guns are always pointing outwards about 15 to 20 degrees in games on Quest 3. This happens for every game that I've tried (both standalone and PCVR). I never had this issue on Quest 1.

Not sure if this is a bug in their API or simply that because the controller ergonomics are different they never adjusted the positions to be similar to previous controllers. Unless Meta adjusts this on a future firmware update, there is no way to get proper alignment in games with a Quest 3.
