Referred App keeps showing Invalid Link

I'm currently having a problem on any app referral links. It keeps showing me an Invalid Link page regardless of who send me a referral link. I've already tried unlinking my Meta account out of my Facebook account and have tried using private/incognito browser to accept the referral link. Unfortunately, they still gives me Invalid Link page.

Hello everyone,

I observed that fellow moderator ShiroTenko has responded to a few of you already. However, I wanted to create this post and designate it as a solution to ensure that everyone is aware of the information provided by the engineers. While I understand that this is not a solution, it is the best way to guarantee that all users can easily view the post.

The engineers are evaluating changes to the app referrals program. As a result, some randomly selected groups of users may periodically not be able to access app referrals.

These user groups change frequently, and if an offer is not currently available to you that is available to others, this means that offer is not being given to your group at this time. Please keep an eye out for similar options in your group in the future.

Thank you again to everyone who has reported your experiences during these changes. Your feedback is always important to us.

Same issue here.

I made a new account and tried the same link and the discount link worked, seems like an account issue.

I'm having the same problem. All referral links redirect to https://www.oculus.com/referrals/error/?error_type=invalid_link

I too have the same issue. At this point it a wide spread problem which Meta doesn't know how to fix. Here I am trying to redeem a referralfor Dungeons of Eternity and nothing works. Referralis still active. My friend never used any.

Also having the same issue. It's like the meta community manager is stuck in an infinite loop of just asking everyone submit a PM. If 10+ people have reported the issue, it's clearly a widespread bug they need to address...

The same here. Recently bought a Quest 3 and not a single referral link works - and I've tried countless. Every time “invalid link”.

Unfortunately I’m encountering the same issue with my Quest 2. I bought it less than a month ago but the referral links never worked for me. They do work for other people in my country.

I don't know if it has to do with anything, but when use F12 on the referral link webpage, the fbevents.js script is erroring all over the place. Since I'm guessing this problem is somehow linked to your referral link website and meta accounts, maybe that's causing issues. You sent me the developer link, but I can't log anything there as I'm not registered as developer.

I’ve just received this reply to the same invalid app referral link issue from meta support, surely it’s not correct??

Sounds like rubbish, like they've misunderstood your complaint.

I found I had to keep a 'response' containing everything I had sent them, and resend it everything they asked me anything and just add whatever extra piece of information/clarification they were asking for, otherwise I just went round and round in circles.

Having said that it's been 10 days since I last heard from them ☹️, can't understand how this can be so hard to solve.

I know what you mean, the subject line for the chat has always been App referral links always invalid, but the first response I got was about the device referral scheme and I had to have a new account etc! 2nd time they acknowledged that the issue was being discussed in the forum and they were dealing with it but wanted more info, then that response comes back 🤦🏼‍:male_sign:
