Question

Add optional "IGNORE" feature to the forums.

There's a lot of noise
on these forums and it has caused my right index finger to grow unnaturally
large and muscular from all the exercise it gets scrolling past posts with
questionable value in otherwise interesting threads, usually attributable to
the same individuals.  It's like an itch that won't quit.  Therefore, I think it would be nice to have an "IGNORE"
feature available tied to user accounts.

LOL @cybereality then an ignore function for threads would be a cracking idea lolololololol

Believe it or not: Every browser comes with a button that let you ignore every person on the internet. Just move your mouse to the upper right at your browser. The button should look like this:

Click it and see what happens. It's like magic.

Phew I am glad you showed me that, been stuck on this damn website for months ;)

lol. I was thinking the same thing at one point. Don't we already have an ignore button built in? It's called ignore. Let them reply.....then choose to ignore.....brilliant.

They really need to make coders work in the office and clock in.  No wonder I can never get IT to fix anything on time.

Wait... so it's not just on this forum that you rely on other people to solve your own problems for you, but at your day job too??!! Dang boy ;)

When I started my own small IT Business 8 years ago, it was so that I can get hired by companies with an IT department exactly like the one you described. I build shit that doesn't break. I'd offer my services to your organization but I think I'll just /ignore the opportunity instead o:)

I think it's a personal attack on non touch users.

Why would the TUMR (touch user master race) bother with personal attacks on Hmd only peasants?

I have to say I love to read a good argument on forums. I like it when people (me included) think they are right about something and suddenly realise they are completely wrong. They then have to carry on the argument for arguments sake because it's hard to leave the room.

I think some people have missed the point - or at least mine, when I started the poll.  It's not about avoiding content you don't like or disagree with.  I can already do that.  It's about reducing clutter and increasing time management for folks who have limited time to peruse these Support forums for you know, support regarding VR issues.  If there's an interesting thread and it devolves into useless banter between two clowns, then I like being able to hide both clowns so I can get to the real content I'm interested in, then move on to the real world.  Time is money.

There is really nothing that important on these forums that anyone should want to lose money over; so I think you're just trying to type up something that sounds cool but doesn't actually apply lol

Sorry, even if I were looking to contract with another IT support firm, you kind of blew the interview process.  Plus you're kind of a dime-a-dozen these days.  I've paid coders and graphics artists in Lithuania to Pakistan 10 cents on the dollar versus US-based firms for equivalent work.  Thanks Fiverr and globalization.  Saved me a bundle.
