Question

Add optional "IGNORE" feature to the forums.

There's a lot of noise
on these forums and it has caused my right index finger to grow unnaturally
large and muscular from all the exercise it gets scrolling past posts with
questionable value in otherwise interesting threads, usually attributable to
the same individuals.  It's like an itch that won't quit.  Therefore, I think it would be nice to have an "IGNORE"
feature available tied to user accounts.

Vote and/or voice your righteous opinion below.

Like @elboffor above, I didn't vote due to the silly way the poll was worded. I posted to express my opinion about an Ignore feature (I don't care for it), but I guess that's not reflected in the poll results.

While it was a real idea presented, it was done with humor, because who wants to take a boring poll?  (Admittedly, I'm not a comic and humor is highly subjective.)

I don't mind humour, but the humour was entirely one-sided, at the expense of those who might disagree. The options were basically "Yes, I'm a reasonable person", or "No, I'm an a-hole".

Not so long ago two members were banned because other members were sick of seeing an endless cycle of tit for tat postings that served no one and went nowhere. Now one of those members is on the ignore list the interaction between those two members will stop and any chance of future banishment is dramatically reduced. So the ignore button has served its purpose the rest of us can get along just fine.

Ya because hanging out in forums that represent a product one of them doesn't like has nothing to do with it......

    The Climb bought.

I never snubbed Valve to sell out to FB.
    I never stopped supporting DK2.
I never closed OC to block Vive.
I never released a HMD without tracked Controllers.
I never insisted on seated games is best for VR.
Wow I could go on but won't.

I come here because I've been a member since 2014 before there was a rival HMD. Palmer Luckey never had a problem with competition neither do most members on these Forums it's just a very small minority that see Oculus as some Elitest club where there should be no talk about anything else apart from Oculus even after Oculus and a Valve are getting together in the Chronos group. People need to move on and evolve with the times.

Isn't it also because Vive doesn't have official forums? Just sayin'... (not a dig)  ;)

If it was an none biased poll with a proper selection of answers then you might have got a better response.
I blame the creator of the poll for the lack of engagement.

I confess I am not a professional pollster.

Remember. these are the Oculus forums. Meaning the on-topic discussion is of Oculus products. Though I think it's fair to allow some discussion of the industry in general, it doesn't make sense to make a separate category for a competitor. And it probably wouldn't go over too well anyhow. I mean, what kind of response do you think you would get promoting AMD video cards on an Nvidia forum or getting tech support for your Mac on Microsoft.com?

Believe it or not: Every browser comes with a button that let you ignore every person on the internet. Just move your mouse to the upper right at your browser. The button should look like this:

Click it and see what happens. It's like magic.

I have to say I love to read a good argument on forums. I like it when people (me included) think they are right about something and suddenly realise they are completely wrong. They then have to carry on the argument for arguments sake because it's hard to leave the room.

@Zenbane - That post with a list of people is a good way to increase your likes ;)
