Question

Aliens - Fact Or Fiction..?

Well we've had a time travel thread so I thought we should have an aliens thread too.

I believe that aliens have visited and are visiting our planet. Now I don't think that there are aliens that are living here and impersonating humans, but I certainly believe that at least SOME of these UFOs captured on film and seen by people are alien spacecraft.

How am I reasoning this? Pretty simple. There have simply been too many technological leaps since the 50s to make it not being true. Just have a think about it:

  1. Integrated circuits and microchips.
  2. Credit cards and bank cards.
  3. Cassette tapes, CDs, DVDs, Blu-Rays.
  4. Kevlar
  5. Lasers
  6. Stealth bombers
  7. The Oculus Rift lol
  8. Velcro.
  9. Quantum Computers.
And then have a look back through time and you have the Pyramids, Mayan astronomy and cities, Stonehenge, the Inca's Machu Picchu and Teotihuacán in Mexico.

A great deal of these UFO sightings are around air bases so a good percentage of them can be put down to experimental aircraft, but ALL of them?

The truth is out there. Trust no one.

Apologies, going back on topic for a quick second!

Between this thread and my recent binge of SciManDan videos, I've been watching Neil deGrasse Tyson vids as well.

I grabbed the link at a time where he talks about the Multiverse and the "chance for life."

I like his analogy of the "flip a coin" experiment. You take 1,000 people and flip a coin. Everyone who got Tails must sit down. Rinse and repeat until there's only one person remaining who gets Heads.
That represents how life in the Universe is made possible. Through random acts, one Universe is able to sustain life. In a multi-verse, there is always a chance that another Universe will also have life (each Universe goes through the proverbial coin-flip exercise).

So this goes back to my original stance. Our Universe is one (of many) that received the winning coin toss. We have life, and it's here on Earth. Granted, the entire Universe won the coin toss (not just Earth), so yes it's possible that life exists on another Planet in another Galaxy. I simply add the probability of another planet overcoming all of the known "threats" of the Universe (all the ways the Cosmos and a Planet tries to kill Life) and conclude that we are - in all likelihood - the most intelligent beings in this Universe.

That being said, has anyone explored the idea that Alien Visitors are really just... us humans from another time? Our future selves visiting us?

I've been watching a bunch of SciManDan's stuff lately too. Although the more I watch, the more despair I feel that people actually believe some of this bullshit.

I'm starting to comment on SciManDan's videos (as well as on the vid's of those he debunks when the urge beckons). Regarding the despair, I made a comment about this that helps!
"As of this moment, his video has 5.7K views, and your video about his
video... has 8.1K Likes. In fact, most of your videos addressing the tin
foil hat earthers share this Stat ratio. Faith in humanity = Restored"

I almost wish the earth was flat, it would make dealing with mapping software far easier. Square tile based map processing of an ellipsoid is rather painful. I was dealing with mapping data for Australia, we cover a large lattitude range, which messes things up.
(Different latitudes have different widths for tiles. For example at zoom level 17 a map tile has 5.37 pixels per metre at the top of australia and 7.19 pixels per metre at the bottom)

But you've got to take into account the sheer number of planets into account too. There are over 400 billion stars in just the Milky Way galaxy. Assuming that these aliens are carbon-based and need an ELW to live and breathe (which is quite a BIG assumption) then there are LOADS of planets out there that can support life. There must be well over a trillion planets out there so a similar ELW to ours isn't a big stretch tbh.

Hmmmm...still no comment from @vannagirl in this thread. That's concrete PROOF that the military is covering up the existence of UFOs and aliens on this planet.

    She could be one herself.

I hereby DEMAND that she submits IMMEDIATELY to a full medical examination by Dr Harv.

Dr Harv: Go behind that screen and take your clothes off.

Vanna: Where should I put them, Dr Harv?

Dr Harv: Just put them right there next to mine!

EXTRATERRESTRIALS are future humans that have supposedly hop back to speak with us.

ALIENS are beings from different planets.

Hmmmm...still no sign of @vannagirl in this thread. It can only mean one of two things:

    1) She really is an alien and has done a runner cos I've discovered her secret and doesn't want a good anal probe or three by Dr Harv to confirm or deny her alienness or

    2) She is busy shopping at Harrods these last few days buying me posh and expensive Christmas pressies.

Could be number two with a bit of luck  B)

I know where to find her but she has sworn me to ultimate secrecy. Sry.

What if first "aliens" we meet are our evolved species? I mean that, if we go to colonize space. Sooner or later distances will grow so big that we start to evolve to different paths and become different species.

Take few million years and there could be several "human races" that are as far apart as whales are from hippos. We may not even recognize them as same species anymore nor do remember them even existing.
