Question

Anyone know of a good projector for 3D games and 3D films?

I don't want to spend much and might even look for a used projector if anyone knows of some good ones for 3D games and 3D movies. I would like one that used active 3D glasses Cheers!

@cybereality - You might know some also?

Yes, if you have the Nvidia 3D Vision emitter connected, 3DTV Play will be unlocked for free.

I believe that 2D mode runs at 60Hz on that projector, but feel free to try it. I know on my old projector, it could do 120Hz but the image quality / colors were not great so I left it in 60Hz for 2D gaming.

    Edit: oops, already answered.
How to access and view Nvidia's user driven library of 3D photos and game screenshots.

@cybereality - I've ordered my 3D glasses and a ceiling mount. However, I've just noticed a small problem. I've noticed when I use the keystone option to straighten the image after the Projector is titled, that there is a bigger black border on each side of the screen near to the bottom of the screen image. It's no biggy, but is there a way to reduce this? When the Projector is straight on and not using tilt  I don't see this

The is normal when using keystone, since the virtual image is now skewed inwards from the actual projection surface. Usually it won't be noticeable, i.e. in a dark room when playing a game.

@cybereality - Would just a normal display port to Hdmi cable work or does it have to be a certain one, like something that carries a 120Hz refresh to get 3D on the projector?

It just needs enough bandwidth. Usually the ones that are for 4K will work, though you may want to pay extra for the 4K 60Hz support to be safe.

@cybereality - Cyber I'm having problems getting 3D to work with films. Can you tell me what to do from the start when using a 3D film with Nvidia play. Cheers!

@cybereality - I ordered this from amazon, but the Rift will not work with it? Did you say your CV1 worked with this because mine doesn't? Now I don't know what to do because I want 3D on my projector but the CV1 is using the only Hdmi port I have on my computer? What can I do to get 3D on my projector? Cheers!

Edit: I just looked at the description and it says it is compatible with Oculus Rift, but when I plug my Rift into it I just get a blank screen with no Oculus Rift startup? What am I missing here?

First test a 3D game to make sure the 3D software is enabled. You should enable it in the stereoscopic 3D settings menu of Nvidia control panel. For video software, you need to use a compatible application. I used to use PowerDVD and had good luck with it (this is paid software) particularly with 3D Blu-Ray.

Like I said, the adapter may work with Rift or may not. You can try using the adapter with your projector if you want. That may work (I haven't tried it, but I imagine it would).
