I've had my iPhone 5s from new and no plans on upgrading unless it falls apart, would probably go back to Sony if it did as it would have a few integration tricks with my Sony TVs and I like Android's tweakability.
I will just mention that the Apple store in London is the worst place I've ever had the misfortune of being. Was waiting inside for a friend who was planning on buying a phone there... & I was using my phone to check where she was, it was raining outside and I was using my second all-time favourite Nokia 800 Windows phone (was a while ago).
Anyway, one of the staff came over and asked me to stand outside. Don't know why I didn't question it but was too surprised and just did what he said. Assume using a Windows phone in their store was against the rules... and I wasn't speaking loud or anything! Also, no queue at the tills thing going on, you find an assistant and they sort you out, so you never know when you're the next in line for the assistant you think you're in-line for, everyone just goes at them from all directions.
I figured the store is exactly like their OS and hardware, it's done their way and no complaining or you're out!

@Zenbane I shamefully could not find a survey here that focusses on the computing side of it all. So those were the closest I could find. Overhere, Apple falls in the same catogory as Simyo and so forth btw.
I don't like Apple nor will I ever like em, you do and that is your choice haha :)
but anyway, lets go back to the actual topic of the thread.
I have family and friends who have owned iphone 4s & 5, and a fair few of them have had problems with speaker and microphone faults. The ipads are good, but the iphone can't be up to much considering all the problems my friends and family have had with the Speakers & Microphones. I've owned Samsung S range for as long as I can remember and never had any faults with them..
My nieces have been using android since they were about 1 year old (mainly galaxy note 4's I believe, or maybe the 3, can't remember).
In my opinion (which is of course all that matters, since I'm awesome), the only good thing apple ever built was the Laser Writer. It was the first real mass market laser printer and ran a real postscript interpreter. That was pretty cool for the time. And I say that as an Amiga owner back at that time, so that's high praise. :)
I'm surrounded by apple stuff at work. Right now I'm sitting at an imac in the staff room, but I'm using my surface pro 5 instead. I've seen so many of these imacs fail over the years, especially the stand hinge and the power button.
Plus that stupid trapezoid box they come in! Urgh. When we go off site to do student exhibitions, we carry the imacs in their original boxes. But stacking 5 or so of those things on a trolley is horrible, they slide apart all the time. Just make the box rectangular! :(
Ok, I'm done ranting (at least on here, I'll keep going in my head for the next couple of hours). Having my Surface Pro just a few cm from an imac is making me uncomfortable.
(My normal desk with a high end PC is being used for student meetings at the moment)

I dislike them for some things, I like them for others. I don't see any reason to limit myself to "one or the other." I will continue to own multiple products from multiple vendors. Having options feels fantastic.
I've also never had to use their Customer Service myself, yet they are one of the highest rated Customer Service providers in the world (as your own sources prove).
You and I were not talking about liking them. We were talking about their global success Rating with Customer Service. I provided proof that they are highly rated in the US, and you countered with proof that they are highly rated outside the US. Thanks.
Oh and we are still on-topic btw. This is a thread about Apple's success.

The only good thing about Macs is the folder arrow that lets you see the contents of a folder without clicking on it to open it. Apart from that, everything Apple is pants!
And as the facts show, Apple is better at Customer Service than most, if not all other computer companies, on a global scale.
I can think of many scenarios where I'd take a Mac over any other OS. Not for gaming, but plenty of scenarios exist where Mac is the better choice.
Like if I were to give a TED Talk for example. If I were to give a presentation to a room full of people, and I needed a computer to accompany the presentation to deliver full audio, video, and App demos... no way in hell would I want anything other than a Mac.
If I were to DJ dance music to a few hundred or thousands people... MacBook.
Pretty much any scenario that requires stability and performance to be as perfect as possible, and doesn't involve playing a video game, a Mac outshines the competition.
Anyone who tries to do these things with a Computer sitting atop Windows or Android, is about to newb it up in front of a crowd.

Interesting that you are talking about a Surface Pro 5 in a good way though. My company gives these things away to employees, but you end up in the "hall of shame" if you actually use one in public lol

Most of the best DJ's come from the Netherlands(my country) and the majority uses windows based laptops. Windows in truth is just as stable as any other. There might have been a time when this wasn't the case, but in the current time and age they're on par with eachother.
Still 1 trillion USD is a good impressive worth to reach. They have millions of fans world wide that will eat their products up on release haha :)
