Australia And New Zealand Rifters Lounge

Hi everyone!

Sorry to rub it in even more but im really enjoying the rift.

As much as it makes me sick, lol, im enjoying experiencing some of the games in rift mode and it just adds so much more depth to the game it just ruins it when you go back to 2D.

The retail games ive had a go at so far is, and what I experienced from the games mind you looking past the low definition, screen door and screen tearing

Hawken - Sitting in the cockpit of the mech just feels awesome and seeing the landscape with depth and just even more breathtaking and I cant wait to get hold of the consumer UHD model when it comes.

War Thunder - Sitting in the cockpit of the planes from warthunder make me sick while I twist and dive around the game but the depth that it adds to the game when sitting in the plane is great and it does feel like your in it.
They do need to fix up the option screen its about 400ft above the viewing angle so for someone who doesnt know where the tabs are will find it hard to join a game which the screen being bugged out.

Half Life 2 - This is definitely a MUST play game for anyone who has the rift, it adds great depth and feels like your in the actual city.

Iracing - I didnt get to play with it while driving a car, I was only able to view the track in spectator mode, more testing to be done soon.

I showed my housemate yesterday - he's a huge minecrafter, so when he got inside the rift, and played an old map of ours... Well - the reaction was priceless!

He was an OP, and he decided to fly around, dig a deep hole and look up...... and I think...3 minutes later he was laid on the ground, feeling horrible. hahahah.

Good to see some Oz's here in rift land, i have just moved out of Brisbane there are several people and companies using the rift there if your in the are you can hook up via The Edge Hack the eavening on thursdays, or the brisbane gamming group which does a meetup monthly. Search the web for either.

i am now out in Emerald and haent come accross any one doing rural aplications at this point.

Mine's coming with me to Mt Isa for month.

It'll do it good to get outback for a while.

Question is, who here (Aus/NZ) is getting a Rift for the novelty of it and who is actually developing with it?

Both really. I've been waiting for something like this for a long time, so I really wanna be in on the start of what I am hoping will be the beginning of true virtual reality.

I am also interested in developing a game for it and I've started work on it already. Seems like a fun opportunity to have a swing at.

Well they are shipping devices with higher order numbers than mine now. I could make it in the next batch this way maybe? I wish there was some consistency to predict it.
