🚨 Quest 3S Gray Screen/Boot Issue — Out of Warranty, Need Help 🚨

My Meta Quest 3S is stuck on a gray screen and I’ve tried almost everything.

Issues I’ve had:

  • Lost tracking during VRChat
  • Headset freezing/pausing
  • Factory reset multiple times
  • Tried rebooting from the boot menu
  • Tried ADB/Sideload update
  • Meta logo appears, then it goes back to a blank gray screen
  • No controller setup screen appears
  • Bluetooth connects, but the Horizon app can’t finish setup
  • Sideload mode got stuck with a purple light

After another factory reset, it now sometimes shows the Meta logo and loading screen, but then returns to the gray screen.

My headset is also out of warranty, so Meta support isn’t able to replace it. I’m hoping someone in the community has seen this before or knows a fix.

Has anyone had this happen with a Quest 3S? Any advice would help 🙏

Hi Tvgirllll​ 🙂

The "lost tracking" error and the black/grey screen are often caused by sweat/moisture that found its way into the headset. 

You can try, if using a hairdryer(no heat) like shown in the video can solve that.

If this doesn't work look for a repair service like Fix my Oculus - if you are in the US - or google for a vr headset repair service in your country.
