I was reading a blog ( http://protectionplus.ca/blog/how-to-secure-your-website-from-being-hacked/ ;) about it online and it mentioned installing a Web Application Firewall (WAF). Do you guys have that installed in your system? How good are they? I am using windows 10 and I don't like using windows defender. Could you guys recommend any good anti-virus software?
Hello,The actual PlayStation VR headset is not bad, but what is the point if the PS4 is powering it? This is a console that struggles to do 1080p/60fps. A proper VR experience is a lot more demanding than that. The games are going to be shit compared to the PC VR headsets like Vive and Rift. And I was checking motion graphics video, but the voice over isn't good. So, what is the point? It just seems like a desperate attempt to not fall behind rather than truly being an innovator and offering a proper VR experience. Please help me out.Any help will be appreciated.Thank you.
I know this is off topic, but do you think cyber troopers was better than the gundam games or are the gundam game better, in my opinion I think gundam had cooler looking robots, but virtual on had better bosses and the mechs where easier to control.

The arcade industry back in the 80-90 represented "street route" business (operators running a number of amusement pieces in a mall unit). But today the amusement industry represents "Family Entertainment Centers" and Entertainment facilities, combining large numbers of mixed-use entertainment systems.Arcades are not a thing, its the amusement industry and as cane be seen by the profits being made by Dave & Busters, Chuck E. Just as an example of how VR plays into the amusement scene lets just look at the brand new The VOID installation in the new FEC opened in Canada. The Rec Room kind of places in perspective the danger of sweeping assumptions when thinking that the amusement model with technology attraction

It is now over 12-months from the launch of both the PC based VR head-mounted displays (HMD's) and we have seen an ever-growing gulf regarding the "exclusivity" of only being able to play one game or another on either of the respective systems. At the same time, we have seen a feud in the VR community towards supporting one side of the fence or the other - levels of animosity that have gotten seriously out of control, to the point that the ex-founder of OVR has supported a device that allows games to be played on an alternative platform. My personal feeling was always that HMD's should be looked at as just "televisions", and be agnostic, with no restrictions on the TV program you want to watch on them as long as you have the right connection/settopbox. In making their own personal eco-system, this may have offered a business model to try and recouped investment, but would dangerously hamper the growth of the community.Should VR headsets be agnostic? Hi all!I'm writing on behalf of the Imagine Science Film Festival which is hosting a night in NYC this October devoted to applications of science in VR (nature, neurobiology, medicine, microscopy, space, and beyond)! Submissions are open and we'd love to show off some of your work. Spread the news to anyone you know who may be working at the intersection of Science and VR or AR!Link here: http://imaginesciencefilms.org/futureofstorytelling

Not on oculus home of course. I am curious does the community feel that Valve would be unfair to make half life 3 vr a vive/lg hmd exclusive being that Oculus poached abrash and other valve employees from them in an unethical underhanded way? Would gaben go so far as to actually drive a blow into the heart of darkness here? Luckey, gaben, abrash all used to be friends, what happened?
anyone know when the Rift sale will end? because my birthday is at the 10:th of september. and will be able to afford to buy it by then. and since i reeeealy want a Rift, i wonder, do anyone know if the sale will still be going then?
With the news from Microsoft (MS) that Windows VR has:- New Touch-inspired controllers- Taken a number of titles (such as Super Hot) to their VR storefront- Has exclusives with Halo in the works- Has first raft of sub-$400 head mounted displays ready to launchI wanted to proffer the question to the forum to gauge reaction. The question being:"Was it not inevitable that MS was going to do its own thing in VR, and really was it a good business strategy for OVR to spent the time working with them?"
My friends oculus controller has just short circuted and is now radiating heat and we're afraid it will catch on fire. We're seriously concerned that this could be a problem that other people could experience under certain circumstances and we feel as if this could be substantial information. Please help!

Hi Cyber, could you tell me a bit about how you ended up working for Oculus? I mean what led you to gain this job...ie, were you a gamer, technician in Oculus, just completed a Uni degreeThanks.
ive already jumped on the band wagon and got a oculus but finding it stupidly hard to get a 3 sensor in uk .so does any one know if vive have the same problems..just asking as they are now on sale and as I been told I can play all the oculus games on the vive I'm looking at upgrading as long as they have the surport in uk unlike oculus it may seem hash but not one retailer overclockers scan john lewis ,currys say they have any intentions of stocking the sensor.but offered me a new bundle.
What volume level works best, and do you use any apps or something to improve the sound coming from the pc,Sound cards?? etc.Thanks. What is the bass like?i just bought a set.
So here's something that occurred to me, wouldn't it be nice to have video reviews of VR games that we could actually see in VR? I looked around and found all sorts of ways to capture VR gameplay for viewing on a normal monitor but absolutely nothing that would allow for viewing it in the original VR format. I don't think a full 360x360 degree recording is needed, just the ability to see what the person recorded saw and ignore viewer head tracking. Does any such thing exist? If yes, where would one even host such a video? I've never noticed such a feature on Youtube. Come to think of it, would it even be a normal video format?
I noticed stores have Vive's in them but no Oculus.I suspect Vive is going to take over unless they team up with Steam or something. And, that would be a shame. I suspect their next model will be very good.. I prefer Oculus and always will, but they have the investment to make and improve more than Oculus? As well as a better media campaign to sell their product?
Hi All,I went to the local carnival called the Ekka.I seen someone showing off the Oculus. It was powered by a laptop and had 2 sensors. Had touch as well.Wow, didnt think that was possible on a laptop. Anyone laptop it?
Anyone going AMD ??

I was one of the many that were disappointed to hear nothing about the future of VR or cross compatibility (as rumours suggested) with the upcoming Xbox One X. Sure, I have my Oculus Rift for VR and I love using it. I'm not looking to substitute my PC for my console or vice versa as I'll always have a need for both. But my thoughts were that while Phil Spencer confirmed that the One X's hardware is fully compatible with VR he just didn't feel the interest was fully there yet. Now should they change their mind on this, do we think that they will need to offer their own hardware for this? Or do we think there would actually be a way to utilise existing Rifts and Vives?I guess my thought process was IF we were able to piggy back existing VR hardware.. could it be implemented as simply as say using the Xbox streaming app for with Rift, and then from the console or game options toggle a "VR" setting to send two images to our headsets then just stream in VR? Maybe that logic is too easy and m
I've thought about the main drawback of Rift (for me anyway) is that annoying cable reaching to the back of my PC. Sure, I know I can get an extension cable but like the Gear VR it would great to consider that one day we won't need to be hardwired in.I assume the limitations currently would be powering the headset.. needing a power built-in GPU etc. But wondering if there would ever be a way to just stream it wireless like a form of wireless HDMI? Or would latency then become the big drawback?Where else do we envision Oculus Rift CV2, CV3 and so on heading?
