Rift owner, thought about buying a PSVR for Resident Evil...Can anybody describe the visual quality of the PSVR as compared to the Rift..Is it a huge step down and or whats better, worse, etc...
Just went to go see this in IMAX 3D. Don't want to do a long write-up right now, but I actually enjoyed it, even being a huge fan of the original animated movie and the series' thereafter.Thoughts on this movie? And if you'd like, describe your thoughts/experiences with this amazing series.
From PC Gamer. After all the doom and gloom about Facebook buying Oculus, does anyone else find it ironic that HTC is taking the first step towards the dreaded tactic of monetizing our gaze direction with in-VR ads?
Each time I log in to the forum in the recent week, I notice the new webpage background. And there was just something about it that felt... familiar. The placement of those Touch controllers is awesome. But for a reason I couldn't quite put my finger on until a few moments ago...*** Warning: Possibly NSFW ***Anyone else see it the similarity??
I ordered the Oculus touch finally, after having the rift for audio work purposes over six months. It wasn't clear when I belligerently bought the touch if I needed, or if it even came with a second sensor. As the shipment got close I was anticipating having to then order a second sensor. When I opened the box and saw the second sensor, my mouth dropped, and I had the same feeling I had of opening up a super nintendo as a kid (31yo). So just wanted to throw out there. What games are the best to play with touch!?
I'm curious to see how the community here thinks marketers will take advantage of VR. Some big companies - HBO, Coke, Dos Equis, etc - have already created experiences. Do you all think most companies will gravitate towards VR as a marketing platform?(I wrote my own thoughts here: http://www.senseofspacevr.com/virtual-reality-will-change/marketing/)
Hi all, due to recent developments with the United Nations, I have been asked to undertake an important task. This task involves asking Oculus Rift Gamers if they have ever fallen/tripped/slipped on their Oculus equipment.Additionally, THE VERY IMPORTANT Safety guide given with Oculus equipment in 1000s of languages that is too small to read either way: may need to be updated immediately with this vital information and this may mean a 100% recall for reprinting. Please input your experiences so that we may save the life of a family member or another gamer.I have asked by no-one to undertake this task for everyone: so your contribution can help other generations of gamers. Save the children.
I would like to know how many floridas are there in america? Otherwise states, cities, towns, villages. And is hollywood in florida?
I have thought about getting a 3rd sensor, but wanted to ask the group if there is any experiences that are notable with the 3rd sensor that would justify the purchase...
I kinda like the external headphones..But what do you think? is it worth it.
I have put down my VR atm. Nothing really that exciting.. I am playing some RPG's 3rd person at the moment. My headset has been hanging up for a week now.
https://www.nytimes.com/2017/02/26/business/sony-playstation-vr-sales.html?_r=0Now, I'm a side-line supporter of the PSVR... Oculus doesn't consider them to be competing in the same market, but rather raising overall VR awareness while catering to a market that likely wouldn't be buying PC-based VR systems anyways. I'm inclined to agree..But this article had me cringing. Mainly, because Sony is getting nothing but positive reactions and praise for being in a remarkably similar situation to the one Oculus was mercilessly criticized for: Not being able to immediately supply enough units to meet demand at product launch. Why the journalistic double-standards?That's not the only thing worth rolling eyes at, though. Like citing figures from the infamously unprofessional SuperData Research..Or claiming that "Oculus executives have sought to shift the conversation from first-year sales to the technology’s long-term potential", when we all know that's what Oculus was p
Does Robo Recall finally open your eyes to the gaming world that is VR.Finally, no crappy pixels and chunky figures??Was this game worth the Money Oculus spent on it??Did this make you want to tell people more about Oculus VR??Was it a worthy investment.. These are all hard questions that need to be asked to progress the greater good of society.Or have we finally drunk the Kool Aide.
Iv entered -vr in the launch options iv enabled vr in game the game switches to some stereoscopic view but wont show up on my rift and i set my rift options to enable other programs to use my rift any idea how to help me?
While I really just made this to help my self I guess a discussion on the topic of getting non vr games working in vr would be good. I found a program called VorpX but it cost money I thought nivida had something like that but seems to be for dated hardware. any one know a general way of getting 3d games working in vr more specifically the rift?also this is supposed to be a actual thread so feel free to talk about the topic.
Why cant we move the walls to the right position inside our headset. This would be awesome. For example, push or pulling the virtual grid walls in any direction to get a better sense of the true boundaries. It is probably easy to adjust as well.I know it annoys me when the sensors cant see the touch controllers.. and it is painfully slow.Thoughts?
Me personally, I think this is a waste of money.. A health and safety guide for a sensor?? The booklet it about two inches in size and a gazillion pages. Not sure about you.. but I am not going to eat my sensor.. Dont even know how you could injure yourself because of the sensor?
i was thinking today.. what happens when oculus starts supporting safe spaces and so do games that include some sort of snowflake sensitive pre-requisite. I would like to see male and female hands.. The hands look to soft and girly for me currently. I like the Robo Recall Hands...Just my opinion.. A great big hairy hand with a kick ass skull ring =D
Picked it up at BB today. 2 main reasons. One being that I own a Vive and I never thought much of the room space stuff, I much prefer seated gaming with a gamepad and Rift has more of those with gamepad support so I"m not cut off from half the library like I am on Vive (revive is a joke Imo and not trustworthy enough to purchase Home games). Some of Vive's seated/standing games are actually standing only less you prefer to walk around from the POV of a little person. Secondly I had a Vive since last August but the software issues are constant. Steam Controller only works in the menu when it wants to. When I press home to bring up the menu inside the HMD, I cannot view my game library. Sometimes the desktop won't show up and other times neither icon even shows up on the bar leaving only the settings and power on/off viewable. Sometime the home button on the Vive wands or Steam Controller do nothing at all. The little button the HMD also only works on occasions. It takes foreeeever for t
I find the oculus home so much more convenient when navigating VR games.
The latest presentation from the team at ML - https://www.facebook.com/ign/videos/10154537446311633/Obviously, the clock is ticking on the all important board presentation of the prototype of what they hope to field. Snake Oil, or Reality... you decide.
For many, the arcade scene is dead and forgotten - while for others it is still a vibrant and important aspect of the digital entertainment scene. While getting ready for one of the big arcade shows in the US - I was reminded of the company Global VR - one of the few operations that survived the 90's collapse in interest in VR, still retains VR in their company name, and still supports one of the few remaining VR machines in the field (above the Vortex). With all the investment in digital out-of-home entertainment (DOE) regarding VR investment, it will be interesting tio see what machines will be in the venues of the future, and how many of them survive the test of time like the Vortex.
