Wondered whether anyone knew of any Crescent Bay demos in the UK?
I.. had to share. This is utterly hilarious:(I'll stop spamming the forums now).
Mmm.. networking. Such fun. No, really, networking is pretty fun :pSo looking over some different options, and here is what I'm thinking:Access Server: 2509Routers:- 1841: I see these alot in the field, so there is that. I know I could go with a lower priced one, but I'd rather practice on what I see in the field, if that makes sense.- 2821: This is an interesting choice.. decided on this due to the gigabit ethernet capability. This would also double as my home network/production router.Switches:- 3560: Layer 3 switch that supports PVLAN, QOS.. gigabit switch, supports POE, and is also a switch that I often see in the field. This one would also double as my home network / production switch.- 3550: Layer 3 switch, doesn't include the features above, but is a bit cheaper. It also seems that my 12U rack that I just purchased on impulse is not going to be large enough for my equipment. Not when the above devices are all 2U devices, my computer which is in a 4U case, and the fact that I am a

I'v been following the Titan x for a month or so now and pre-orders are up with sales going official tomorrow i believe. Before i hit submit order, what are the chances there will be a game bundle? Right now the 970 and 980 get you Witcher 3, and when i bought my current 670 it came with some crappy in game cash for some games i'v never played. Its just with GTA 5 (hopefully) hitting shelves in less than a month and my current cards struggling with VR content, it is well in due time for an upgrade. Which leads back to my question. I'd be bummed out to order now only to find a game bundled with it a month down the road. However if there will be no games bundled, i'd rather get the card sooner rather than later. I know i know, first world problems  what are your thoughts though? Im not the only one oogling over this and slapping my wallet telling myself to wait in case there is game bundle later on am i?

Hi there, I have a question on licensing rules, based on the following license agreement : https://developer.oculus.com/licenses/license-3.2/I'm developing content on Unity designed for Oculus, and would like :- to give access to this content to people in showrooms for a price of X$- to give access to this content and my Oculus to companies for their showrooms, for a price of Y$I can't figure out whether or not it's legal, based on the license agreement below. Can someone explain me ? Thanks a lot
Has anybody already tried extending the cables for the two USB and one HDMI plugs on the Rift DK2? I was wondering if it's possible to do without negatively impacting the experience of using the Rift as I want to make the cord come down from a hook in my ceiling to my head so that I can spin around in my chair without getting wrapped in cable. As it is, one full spin would probably rip my computer off it's stand.
What was the typical size / dimensions / floor plans for an indoor store in the middle ages, with a customer area and an employee area? Inquiring minds wish to know.
Just watched this about a young brilliant computer kid, Santiago Gonzalez.I sure wish someone would get him an Oculus Rift, and for that matter this college he attends called the, Colorado school of mines. Looks like they need one in their lab with all the talent there, it would be sure to be a visualization tool success, with all the stuff they do.Take a look at this young kid, any one at Oculus able to give him a Dk2 demo some how. bring him up to the Oculus lab and steer him away from apple :ugeek:
Hi Guys !I would be curious to have your feedback about cardboard.I've just receive my kit today and test it with a HTC one. What a disappointment, the experience was absolutely miserable ... :( - Tracking was absolutely crazy- no sense of depth - miserable FOVThe only plus is that - you have no wire- you doesn't feel SDE as much as in DK2On this one i was kinda ready to believe that Santa does exist , and that this cheap device could do the job ...well i was wrong :)Maybe the experience is far better with a NEXUS 5 or 6 from google i should try that ...Anyway if you have achieve good experience with cardboard i would be curious to know the App and the phone you have used.Cheers E
I'm fairly new when it comes to working with the Oculus (DK2).My overall goal here was to be one of the few who brave streaming on twitch (twitch.tv/seasickelijah)I suppose I am looking for suggestions from games to play. Both Mods of games made riftenabled and indie games made FOR the Oculus. Also, don't be afraid to stop by the stream :P Shameless Advertising.

http://unity3d.com/So its the personal edition. If you make less than $100,000 you get full access to all of the Unity 5 engine features :D good news all round i say!
I've been watching a lot of this guys videos, they're crude but funny and kind of good research as a developer to see what not to do. He reviewed this PC game called big rigs and some of the flaws in this game are absolutely incredible, you have to see it to believe it, it's really bad.
Hey all Just upgrade my PC to an; MSI Z97-GD65 Motherboard and an Intel i7-4990k 4.0 ghz and I want a CPU cooler. This is the first time I have decided not to just stick to the stock cooler and want something with a little more pizzaz. But im not good with checking for spacing and ive read a lot of people buy a CPU cooler and it covers Ram slots etc with their motherboards, So for those more experienced that I. What are my options. The one i want is this one http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... 6835214041Will this one fit my MOBO and not cover any slots?
Been thinking a lot about what possible applications VR could be used for other than the stuff like Films, and games.Current thoughts are:Time Travel: Experience Key events through time i.e like the apollo mission VR experience on kickstarter.Religion: I know people have said it could be used for sermons but what if you could visit key moments in the Bible that would be cool.Space Travel: If NASA can map planets remotely then VR could allow you to travel to these planets.Robotics: Disabled Users could have personal robots with cameras to help out.Any other ideas?
Hey All I haven't messed with upgrading PC's in awhile. But I upgraded to the GTX 970, almost got the 980 i think is the next one up but couldn't justify spending that money. But had to get a new power supply as well. Got that all in the other night, was running just Firefox and at times the 3 programs that came with the card to watch the temp, and gpu/memory usage meters , benchmark stuff. I would have the monitor window open to watch the temp, and maybe firefox, and it was running around 40-65 Celsius depending on what I was doing. Mainly after I benchmark it and the fan's where still going did it cool down to 40. I read somewhere that it should be around 30 degrees Celsius. Then when I would benchmark it it would get up to 70 maybe 75 Celsius. The thing that worries me is that I haven't really played anything that would run it real hard, and these temps seem kinda high. Its a stock hp case, so its kinda compact in there. I was thinking if its just not getting enough airflow I'll ope
I want a pink oculus t shirt for work and a pink rift. How can I make this happen?
Just discovered this on the subreddit and I couldn't find any mention of it here. Apparently on the 25th, Apple posted two new job openings on their website, both for senior display engineers:https://jobs.apple.com/us/search#&ss=Sr ... d=38121667https://jobs.apple.com/us/search#&ss=Sr ... d=38113576Feel free to check them out yourself if you're interested, but here's a few highlights:Display systems design and development related to VR environments.Specify and test novel display systems for virtual environments.Work with vendors to develop custom display solutions.Candidate must understand how to drive displays from multiple synced sources at high frame rates with low latency.Candidate must understand the key issues associated with developing extremely high fidelity VR environments.Seems pretty much confirmed Apple is working on VR hardware, but who isn't these days?
Afternoon,I am a student of programming who wants to, eventually, be employed in the field of VR. I also recognize I still have a ways to go before reaching that level of competence. What I have noticed in my forays VR is that I am lacking the knowledge to understand the higher level discussions of the hardware used in VR. I was wondering if anyone knew of any learning resources I could use to educate myself on the hardware involved? Something like the College level computer science and architecture courses on Saylor maybe?Any help would be greatly appreciated.
