Just watched an interesting discussion that Nintendo (NOJ) is actually focusing on competing against Sony PSVita - which was claimed to be influentual in the Japanese market. It was an interesting argument, and seemed to sum up the NOJ thinking - but also underlined that NOJ is at the last chance salloon regarding making another console if Switch fails!

Huh, apparently Banjo Kazooey spiritual-successor Yooka-Laylee  will be available on the Switch.  I mean, it's going to be available on everything else, too. Xbox, PS4, WiiU, Steam..

I wonder if they'll give me the option to upgrade my PC copy to a Switch copy?

Then again, with the PC edition maybe someone will get a good VorpX profile set up for it. Mmm.

Meh.  Loved the Wii - particularly because the Wiimote is my favorite piece of hardware ever.  Bought a Wii U but the pad controller felt completely forced and generally useless.  Not "feelin" it at all for the Switch.  I would rather they do one thing well instead of trying to be all-things.  Glad my kid is getting older now so I can switch to the PS or XBox for my next console.

This is one of the best comparison images I've seen of the Switch. Having it next to the Wii U control pad really helps quantify the Switch's size.

@CrashFu  ...believe they were offering Wii U backers the chance to change over to the Switch. Might be worth asking if you can swap over.

Keeping an eye on a release date for the PC version of NieR: Automata ... It's interesting to hear that a version for the Switch could be possible. If Square Enix are prepared to pay, then Platinum Games appear very willing to make it.

What do you think of the conversation that Nintendo are considering a VR application for the system - wow if you thought Google Cardboard was "muddy water"!

Pre-ordered it. Looks great. Portable console games? Yes please! Nintendo games you can't play any where else? Hell yeah. They may add VR to the console as well.

Nintendo Switch VR ... can't say I've got positive feelings about that particular venture. Was quite happy to see the online service costs could potentially be fairly low...

I can see the Switch working as a handheld, but like every system, it's make or break with the games. Nintendo's IP lineup looks good for this year, but they really need those third party developers to commit to a bringing some of there bigger titles to bear.

Can't remember which of Nintendo's team made the comment. The system is apparently easy [easier] to port too, if said game is based on PC coding. Hopefully, some of those titles which get ported to PC, will find their way to the Switch also...

Nintendo is still very defensive about the Virtual Boy - never claimed it was a flop (though they also claim WiiU was not a disappointment).

I would not be surprised that they play around with doing a GearVR on it - the tracking in the joysticks would allow them to do a very basic turn process - and they will be doing a film download feature... eventually. So why not a 360' viewer!
