Zelda, Mario, I bought this officially for my 6 years old son and his sister 11 yo, but I always play them when they sleep ;) And no, I see something wrong here: 720p is for the screen itself when used autonomously, when plugged to a TV/Monitor games are displayed at 1080p (AFAIK)

I kept an old TV as my son still play Nintendo 64 (and finished several games in it including Super-Mario 64 which I never finished myself), play the 3DS (in 2D mode, young eyes) and his near to finish his second Zelda (Ocarina of Times and now Link between worlds), and I want him to continue the Zelda story and discover this new Mario. He learned to read from those games as he really wanted to understand what's displayed in Zelda. I didn't bought the WII U, and the Switch fix a lot of problem WII U had, so definitively the Switch is a big yes for me and the whole family.

900p when docked actually.

Zelda displays at 900p when docked, Switch itself supports up-to 1080p when docked, 720p in handheld mode...

I'm still not fully sold on the Joy-cons, the ergonomics of the Switch when hand-held is just a touch off. There's not enough to hold/grip as your playing. Hoping that a third party will develop some chunkier clip-on controllers, with a proper D-pad on the left and realigned R-stick & buttons on the other side...

That said, have spent more than a few hours playing Zelda whilst in work without issue. It's great being able to play where & when ever I get a bit of spare time

I saw it docked on a huge wall mounted flat screen and it was great. Watching Link dive off a tower and hand-glide down was kinda cute.

Hmm, I'm still not convinced yet. Need more games. Amazon have them back in stock on the 31st of March so at least demand isn't crazy like other console launches.
System Specs: MSI NVIDIA RTX 4090 , i5 13700K CPU, 32GB DDR 4 RAM, Win 11 64 Bit OS.

Got mine but I travel a lot for my job and this is a gift from heaven, no more crappy mobile games in planes, I can now play a full fledge game on the go... It's awesome. The game catalog is thin for now (Zelda and the Binding of Isaac),  but it's the fastest selling console in Nintendo history, more then the Wii which sold 100 millions units. The 3rd party dev are fully on board as well. So if you travel a lot it's a must buy... If you stay at home, how much are you willing to pay for Zelda and other first party games lol. Because pretty much every other games will be available on PC

Not yet, with such high price tag and so few content. Maybe by the end of the year if more and good content come out.

I still want one. They've been pretty much sold out everywhere. I had a chance to get one briefly, but I just built this new Ryzen machine so I want to at least have fun with the honeymoon before buying another system.

Nintendo just formerly acknowledged the hardware problems with the left Joy-Con losing bluetooth connections while in console mode, so it appears a hardware recall is coming.  Perhaps for the left controller only.  Apparently 8 feet from your TV is too far for Switch bluetooth.  The wise will wait.
Rift-S, Quest 128GB, GO 64GB.

I must be one of the lucky ones, having nothing wrong with the one I have... Think I've spent a good 3/4 of my time playing with it as a handheld, in work and at home. When docked, I've had zero issues with the joy-cons. Am going to get a Pro controller in the next week or two, just so I don't have to detach the controllers every time it's docked.

Having a choice of 20 games isn't to bad for being just two weeks in. Think the next games I'll be getting will be Snake Pass, Wonderboy, Arms and Graceful Explosion Machine. Not going to bother with Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, have the Wii U version with DLC, not paying another £50 for the Switch version.
