Eventually! I skipped over the WiiU so I guess I'm due for another Nintendo console..

So far there's a few games I'm interested in, at least.. but I REALLY hope to see F-Zero make a comeback, or a new Animal Crossing (that isn't just a spinoff like Happy Home Designer or that board game).. or a Monster Hunter that isn't just a lazy port of one of the existing 3DS titles.

They release some of those and I'll definitely invest in one of these things.

I wouldn't hold your breath for a new F-zero any time soon unfortunately. Miyamoto said that he didn't want to make a new one until he was confident about being able to bring something new to the table with it. There's some speculation that there could be a remaster of GX sometime soon though.

I wish that they'd realise that "More of the same done well" is as good as "New" for most fans and would have actually been better in the case of the later Star Fox games :(

this game pricing seems excessive i like to support devs but not at EA games prices.

I am unsure i would be able to afford very much for it, a system that may only have 7 or so first party games a year and 3rd party seems vague going off this conference,

they rolled out a couple who said yes its great and that was about it other then fifa, and skyrim which everyone knew. Yes great on handheld but i have a pc version running 140 mods and it looks amazing. Someome in eurogamer mention 80 games in production, that sounds good but i prefer to actually see what this really means

I have gone from wow i loved that pre trailor to i am really unsure now and i shall defo sit this out and see unlike previous handhelds for day one, the overall cost just seems so high atm

£60 a game is a big hit, but already have Zelda: BOTW, Splatoon 2, Super Mario Odyssey and Xenoblade Chronicles 2 on pre-order... So used to buying games in Steam sales, paying full price is done with gritted teeth.

Can't really remember the last EA game I bought ... maybe John Madden Football for the Sega Mega Drive.

I can see me having to upgrade my mobile phone contract to get more monthly data... Can imagine taking the Switch into work with me.

What?  £60?
Big PC, all the headsets, now using Quest 3

Aye, £60 was the listed price on the pre-orders I made with Amazon UK, could be cheaper by the time they're released ... I passed on the Skyrim pre-order, it's showing as £199 :s

yes everyone is saying 60, i hope they do go down but ninty games seem to hold their price so who knows. It is too much for me every time i am used to paying a lot less, maybe amazon will do their magic and the console comes down 30-40, the pro controller is about 70 so 45 for me is good again.

I will probably be waiting a long time though

It's such hypocrisy that he says that and then we get like four different mario games since then that (while very well made and fun) add virtually nothing to the Mario experience.

Like, is one or two new power-ups his idea of "bringing something new to the table"?  Is the whole "driving on the walls/ceilings" thing in Mario Kart 8 his idea of "bringing something new to the table"?  If that's the case, I'm sure they could come up with some new minor feature to add on to the F-Zero formula to make it meet his criteria.

So yeah, I agree with you, I'd play a new game in my favorite franchise even if it was just "More of the same but prettier".   There are people who still buy every Madden game or racing sim every year and don't care that it's still just sports or driving cars, so why wouldn't we want more rocket-propelled hovercars and snarky space-furries?

Now the initial buzz has died down. I'm looking at the Switch thinking, yeah, it puts right a lot of the Wii U's faults and add's some of the fun that made the Wii popular.

However, games ... What happens if you don't like Zelda?! Can't see Super Bomberman R, 1-2-Switch or Snipperclips drawing a huge crowd. Plus the whole, £40 for Breath of the Wild on Wii U, or £340 because your buying the Switch also. You've really got to be 100% on the portability idea ... which Nintendo never really hit upon during the release event.

OK, it's still early days and the line up of launch / post-launch titles can still increase. I've pre-ordered based on Nintendo's line-up of games due for 2017. Plus the idea being able to be in work, killing time playing Mario Kart or Splatoon  :D

When will Nintendo learn this weird ass shit doesn't play anymore.  Mobile phone gaming is the death of handheld consoles.  I'm glad they finally learned this.  Note that their stock price fell after Switch announcement, but rose sharply after Super Mario Run was announced.  Make sure you guys buy one.  It may be a collectible someday.  Just like the Virtual Boy.

Hey well the good news for Zelda fans... you probably won't get to install much else:

The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild takes up almost half of the Switch’s storage
