Those are pretty cheap - there's some in stock on Scan but they're £850 - £900+

mmm price drops of the current series could just mean the miners are now waiting for the Ampere series, as we are.

Hope I'm not sounding too much like Mr Pessimist, I'm just preparing myself for disappointment.

Nvidia should let us actually purchase on backorder instead of gamble our chances that we are 1 of 25,000 customers that actually gets through to complete a sale.  If the outcome is the same everytime I try I'll just give up until this is back to normal if that ever happens.

May have to skip yet another generation... whatever's after Ampere.  Sticking with electrical names I vote for Eddy Currents.

My card still copes with everything, 3 years on. Turned out to be one of my better choices.

Well we need an addition to the forum, a section for sales of video cards that fell off a truck.  Who has $1,200 for a video card?

The demand in the market has been disrupted by crypto mining.  The problem is the supply pipeline takes a long time to adjust to a large market force like this.  And there is substantial risk to the suppliers because if the demand decreases in the crypto world they're left with a glut of cards they can't sell at a profit anymore.

This will be long slow process to achieve a new steady equilibrium.  As long as supply is tight, the prices will stay high.
