Question

Shipping no longer delayed? + First Impressions!

I'm putting this in off-topic, since I don't want to get in anybodies way, and I know its mostly due to my own supidity and lack of presence.

I've been avoiding Rift news for a few months while I saved up to get one. I may not be a developer, but I'm a gamer who likes to test things to try to help out that way.
I ordered mine and expected to see it in a month or two, but from what I've seen in the forums, shipping is no longer a big issue? I even saw "Shipping takes 3-5 business days" on the order screen.

So my question is, has the current state of shipping improved or the sales died down enough that shipping only takes a few weeks?
UK order, by the way.

Thanks for taking the time to read!

EDIT
Since a lot of us have shared the experience of waiting for our Rifts to arrive, how about sharing our first impressions as well?

I reckon us lot should start another thread after they've all been delivered for our first time rift experience's, what do you think? :?:

Once your Oculus Arrives, just post how you got on with setting it up, how it handled, what you game/demo you tried first and anything else related!

Followed that guide, now my Skyrim just crashes :(
After about 2 hours of reinstalling everything, tweaking, endless googling, realise that at the bottom of the guide it says
"A new version of Vireio Perception has been released breaking compatibility with several games. Use the this specific version of Vireio Perception to get Skyrim working as published."
    And that doesn't work either.

I'm really sorry to hear that, not sure what could be wrong, but then again its skyrim, every mod has a 70% chance of crashing, 20% of destroying your save, and 10% of actually working. The only one mod that almost caused a problem was "The Joy of Perspective" and that was fixed by editing the Skyrim.ini file, though im probably going to remove it as it makes the game "look" weird (more realistic, in a bad way)

I can't even help you with that one yet as I haven't even tried it, :(

Lol yeah, i dont like the perception mod much, but it depends on how it looks with the rift.
And it isnt the mods, the game works fine with them, its adding the .dll files from vireio that makes it crash.
Doesnt even start, as soon as i start skyrim, a tiny box appears as "not responding" lol
hopefully i can work it out by Monday, now ive started setting it up, im really excited to see skyrim in the OR

That Red Frame demo looks beautiful as well that's also on share lie lighting effects are second to none and has a really high sense of realism can't wait to see that inside the Rift!

I'm having the same error too, tried killing all mods and then back again nothing seems to work, though i might have read something about vireio interfering with multi-monitor software, so i still have to test that theory

ok forget the monitor thing, just tried the vireio with mirror's edge and it crashed too, best guess would be that it looks for the oculus and doesnt find it, hence it closes down

That makes sense. Shame, I'd like to know that every is set up for tomorrow.
At least I know all the demo's I downloaded should work without too much problem, I'll just have to work on Skyrim and other games once the OR comes :D

    EDIT:
Totally found a new thing to try to set up in preparation of tomorrow.
Just foundout that people can run Halo CE in it. I've been a Halo fan since I was a kid, and it never even occured to me that Halo CE/Halo 2 could run with the OR

    Very excited now.
