Is it easy to navigate or just a clunky mess? Try jumping to page 7 of any of the longer threads. That 'show more' button is going to wear out real fast.

I wonder if I can make a greasemonkey script that auto-clicks any Show More link it sees on a page?

So at least staff still seem to be able to embed youtube videos. Over on the Horizon boards (under Creator Forum) the community manager there was posting embedded youtube videos less than 2 days ago.

I don't see any way for us to do it though.

I see another person in the Creator Forum posted an embedded youtube video, this time a "Partner" account. I wonder if only certain boards have videos enabled? I don't want to post off topic over there since they seem to have a different community manager to here.

Assuming I can still move posts to the deleted board, maybe I'll test later.

Yeah, we can still move to deleted. A little bit clunky though... move to a new discussion, then choose the board, then it seems that we have to give the post a title, even though it has one.

We have the option to view/edit the source code for the thread's original post but not for the replies. That would have been one way to embed a video I think. Maybe that's the way to post a vid?

Edit: so yeah, embedding works that way on this board so I assume all boards. Some people must have an option to add a vid without resorting to using the source code.

Good catch. Yeah, the first post in a thread gets a toolbar with more features, such as spoiler blocks and view/edit source.

Whatever you did on the off topic board worked though. Did you manually edit the source of the post?

klburns can you get my 'rank' changed to 'random user' as I'm getting a full inbox from desperate people requesting help to get legitimate whatsfacegram issues fixed. There's no signage on the forum on the MVP roles.

A sad indictment on the quality of meta help that I'm getting monetary offers to fix issues.

The new forum layout seems to be making it easier for the meta unsupport bots to ignore folks needing help. Does the community feeling seem to have been lost?

At the moment because I am having very slow forum issues I am not really participating here but I notice a lot of people are not getting any help here aside from some kind folk like yourself. Meta really need to step up their game and talk to customers be it helping with their issues or discussing the bugs. Its not good enough to expect other customers to carry the burden or have bots to deal with IMO. AI isn't a go either...

I have noticed that it is actually quite hard to find the latest post in many cases because it is nested - perhaps the link needs to go directly to it - makes a reply easier to make. Nothing worse than stuffing around navigating when you can just go there and offer a quick reply in passing. They also need a FAQ section or sticky so that those who do don't answer the same things over and over.

Consultant is definitely not the best title if you want to choose whether or not to offer help.

I blame modern advertising, my toothpaste is Pro Expert but it's neither.

Answers to older replies in a thread are never displayed at the top of it, even if sorted by "newest". You must scroll through the thread to find them.

And another thing,. You can't link to a place in the forum only a single post. Where previously you could get a permalink that would take you to that part of the forum allowing you to see follow on posts.

You are right, I also think permalink is an essential feature.

What happened to all the image folders? When you uploaded an image to the forum it would also put it in an images folder in your profile.

Yeah, no images, no bookmarks in the profile.... it's all gone🙄

As a full stack software developer for more than a decade with various satisfied customers, not a single day in my mind ever popped into my head the idea of making a thousand user forums, with threads with 10-40 pages of replies, to add a infinite scroll feature (Show more buttons).

This can't be real. Lol, not even a rookie would think this is a good idea.
I'm flabbergasted. For real.

MandorlaTalebana yep, get the cheapest clunkiest software to make it almost unnavigable, putting those needing help off. Fewer people requiring help means less electricity to power the support bots, so it's saving the planet as well.
